Hey guys! First off, I am new here and already love it. I have heard great things about Fi and decided to run with them in my next setup. I listen to, well, almost all rap and I want to compete for the first time with my new setup and am not sure what to run with. This is going in a blow through so I have a decent amount of room to play with. I am not sure what I would be better off doing in a setup. Right now I am kinda torn between doing something like 4 12's sealed (probably Q's) versus someting like 2 15" BTLs ported. I want to get super stupid loud. Pretty much I am just lookin for suggestions and ideas of what to do.

Amp wise I was thinkin if I go with the 4 12's I would use a RF4000....if I did the 2 BTL's I would use 2 Sundown 3000D's. Please help me come up with something.

Hi,

How much space have you got available? 4kw Vs 6kw.. Similar cone area, but you have way more power + vented enclosure.. The BTLs will be louder for sure. Sound wise, for the sheer brutality you'll have with the BTLs i doubt for a second (unless your an SQ fairy) that the 4 12s will touch on them..

You'll also have to think about if you can sustain 6kw Vs 4kw setup... in which case the 4 12s would be worth looking at.

Depends if this is a wall off or trunk sort of setup.. need more info.

the ported 15's with more power would likely be louder, especially if you tune semi-high. or have switchable ports, one for everyday driving and another for when you compete that's tuned even higher.

Can you guys give me some ideas on the tuning, I read something like 32Hz is good for daily, but what is good for competitions? I am looking at roughly around 10-12 cu ft total after displacement and all, this will allow me to save some room in the bed of the truck. I am newer to box designs, but I am gonna try and design it to where the ports extend out of the box a little and more into the blowthrough. I have never used round ports but plan on trying them this time, I think I can devise something that will make them interchangable, maybe even if it is sliding one new tube inside the old one to alter it. Like I said, I am still very new and any help is great.

I am pretty sure I will be able to sustain that amount of power. I will be ordering a 300amp alt and a couple heavy duty batteries to put in the back as well.

Note: another reason I would like the port to extend out is because, unless I am going to comps, the back seat will be in. I was thinking of having a buddy "redo" the rear seat by cutting a hole in the center and looping the cloth around. This will allow me to have a little less resistance, but bringing the ports directly to this hole I imagine would help tremendously in daily....but I would remove the seat for comps.
