when I first installed it, it got hot shortly after, not warm but hot. I though that was odd but left it alone. after of being in use for a few hours the next day it went into protection mode. I drove it to a near by shop, they checked it out and told me the amp was damaged, I did not bridged it, I hooked it up to a 10" sd-v1 (400rms) and I only used one channel so I have no idea what caused it to fail. I'm not sure if this amp was refurbished since I got it on sale? anyone know what I did wrong?

Thank you.

For starters both channels should be used.

Not necessarily.

So you were running one channel at 2 ohms?

Yes, that is correct. Will this damage my amp?

All of the sale amps are BNIB.

I replied to your e-mail as well.

Ok, I did not know that.
