How safe is it if I was to run pair of BTL15D2's @ 0.5ohm with music?

I'm only able to buy one amp at the moment.

I will be getting another as soon as I can, then I'll strap them @ 2ohm

I dont know much about calculating imp. rise or anything like that,

nor do I have the tools.

This is honestly the largest system that I've ever done.

thanks.

I will be doing electrical as well support the planned power.

H/O alt if and when I can find one

3 or 4 Kinetik hc2000

Many people do so without issues - but, there is no warranty.

Also, never count on impedance rise for a daily system.

so you'd suggest getting 2 SAZ-3000D and do it that way then?

And will the electrical upgrades I have planned work out ok?

That HO alternator is a MUST, especially with two 3000Ds. You are looking at the potential to draw 600 amps of current at full blast so be sure to look into THE biggest alternator you can get - preferably 300 amps, or perhaps dual 200-amp units if possible.

As for the battery bank, definitely go for four of the HC2000s. If size is less concern than price then look at DEKA Intimidators as well, you can get the G-31 Intimidators pretty cheap and dollar for dollar they will out perform the HC2000, but they are larger.

And yes, I always suggest simply running the amps at 1 ohm - they are more efficient and carry warranty coverage.

Dual alt will never happen, I am not willing to loose the a/c (far too humid)

H/O alt is going to be the most difficult piece of the puzzle.

I drive a 2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R SpecV, and I have yet to find anyone that can do one for me.

Any leads?

Space isnt that much of an issue, I just deal with a small mom&pop shop that are helping me out with wire

and kinetic batts @ cost (been dealing with them for years) so i cant really pass up the deal.

You guys are awsome, I love how quickly everyone on this board is to answer my somewhat silly questions.

but then again the only dumb question is that one thats not asked.

On a side note, is the SAX-100.4 under rated as well?

I like all my amps to match, just call me crazy

Edited by SeductiveSounds

The 100.4 is a bit underrated and is good for around 115 x 4 watts.

If you can't get an HO alternator it is simply a bad idea to run 6000 watts regardless of amplifier brand, impedance load, etc. A factory alternator simply won't be effective at all with that sort of current draw.

You will probably need to have your factory alternator re-wound.

So I've spent the last day calling around.

The largest HO alt I can currently get my hands on

is 260amps and is close to $500

(not that price is of concern, its important but other things have priority)

Will that suffice?

It'll have to work :) Just back it up with plenty of battery power and pay attention to your voltage drop!

Depends on where that "260" amp is coming from.

Some companies, overrate there products.

So which one is that?

So how much battery? I was hoping no more than 5 (including the one under the hood)

The system will most likely not see full tilt for very long.

How much drop is too much? I know with my Kicker stuff, I MAYBE lost 1.5volts full tilt.

The Alt is from Iraggi.

I am going to call Ohio Generagtor though, just can call that far from work.

LIke I said this is by FAR the LARGEST system I have ever done.

Either for my self or for a customer, or friend.

So all the input is very valuable to me

Iraggi has been having problems with people not be able to get in touch with him. Also, I've seen where his alt's don't do exactly what they say.

I'd try to go with a different company if I was you.

SO I have been reading.

Powermaster = Nothing for my car

EA = MIA, waiting to hear back

Iraggi = 260amp @ $479+shipping to Canda

Ohio Gen = Need to call still

Stinger = Nothing

Who am I missing?

Is it at all possible to have one custom made?

I do have a dead alt sitting at home in the garage, collecting dust

Oh, and could I do Optima Yellow tops?

As I already have 3 kicking around (2 in the Sentra and one in the winter beater)

Or are the Kinetik or Powermaster the way to go.

Try Meangreen, and HO Alts.

Yes, Yellow tops will work.

Email sent to MeanGreen and HO

Thanks for the help

Will I need mroe yellow tops than say 4 of the HC2400 from Kinetic?

I do get a deal on the Kinetik batteries, but 4 of them will cost me ~$1200 for the HC2400

Where as 1 or 2 more Yellow Tops will be at most $500
