Posted June 26, 200817 yr I have a guy on CA.com thats going to build me a box for my single RL-p 15. I told him from several recommendations, 3.5cubic feet at 32hz. He has a box thats 4 cubic feet tuned at 28hz thats already build and good to go, (ive seen it as well)Which box would you choose?Sub is a Dual 4 wired to 2 ohm, powered by a Kicker ZX750.1. I listen to alot of music, but love old school R&B and rap if im in the mood.As always any feedback is apperciated, thanks.
June 27, 200817 yr 3.5 @ 32 would be my pick. though the other box wouldn't be bad, i'd take the one that was recommended.wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
June 27, 200817 yr Admin Kent makes a great suggestion, but that 4 cube box would not hurt at all, should be a monster on the lowest of lows.
June 27, 200817 yr Author Kent makes a great suggestion, but that 4 cube box would not hurt at all, should be a monster on the lowest of lows. Thanks denim, thats kind of what the appeal of that box was to me, I know the recommend will work fine too.Made my decision, thanks so much for the help guys.
July 17, 200817 yr Author Settled on the 4@ 28hz enclosure and loved it, however, the surround on the RL-p started to come loose from the cone Def not the subs fault, its pretty old and I bought it like that a while ago. Any ideas to fix it or should I be considering a recone. Sub still works fine.
July 21, 200817 yr Buy some ca clue and glue it back ? If there isn't any other damage, I think it's an easy fix.
July 24, 200817 yr Author Buy some ca clue and glue it back ? If there isn't any other damage, I think it's an easy fix. Thanks Adrian, but I almost forgot about this thread. I fixed the sub last Sat and its fine now. Ill post some pics tomorrow if anybody is interested.
July 31, 200817 yr Author Well, I got it all together and figured I would post some pics if anyone is interested And a couple of vids, didnt turn out like I liked, but sounds fine to me. Sub sounds wonderful and is very loud, almost everyone that hears it is hard pressed to believe its a single sub. Considering I have less that $325 total invested in the setup, it works out very well. Thanks Mike for building a very solid performer
