Posted July 15, 200817 yr Hey guys I just got my amp today its HUGE. Im running 2 sets of comps off this amp, Hertz HSK165 for the front and infinity kappa perfect 6.1 for the rear. I thought i hooked everything up properly but that was not the case. My balance and fader controls are wrong, when i adjust to left or right the front left and rear right work. I dont know whther the speaker wires themselves are wrong, or if iinstalled the rca wrong. There are no markings on the rca just 2 red and 2 black so I dont know where they go.Secondly, I need help setting the adjustments. I want this amp to be stritcly for mids and highs since I have 2 subs. I set it to HPF for both switches on the amp but I dont know muchelse now. It doesnt really sound that great, so i know my settings are messed up! Please help
July 15, 200817 yr The fronts should hook to one terminal block and the rears to the other terminal block. Fade left to right to see if your ballance is correct. Then fade front to rear to see if that is correct. If all that is proper then we can help with all the filters
July 15, 200817 yr Author if i set the balance and fader both to the middle, then all the speakers work. but when i go left or right or front and back then it gets weird. The connections are wrong somwhere and the speakers dont correspond to the balance/fader.is 14guage speaker wire sufficient? Edited July 15, 200817 yr by titanle
July 15, 200817 yr if u fade and\or balance and it goes to the wrong speakers, then you have your rcas plugged into the wrong channels.Unplug ALL of your rcas except for one, just pick one and plug it up to channel 1.Now set your stereo to fade forward and left all the way. If no sound comes up, unplug that 1 rca and plug another rca into chan 1 until u find the right one. Then fade forward and to the right and try the next rca for chan 2 and so on until u get all the rcas hooked up properly.

July 15, 200817 yr and make sure none of the RCA plugs are touching each other. If you are using larger sized plugs(IE: KnuKonceptz) this might happen.
July 15, 200817 yr Indeed, you simply have the RCAs plugged in wrong for the balance and fader issue.
July 15, 200817 yr Author Coudl you guys also explain the knobs to me? Where should the gain/subsonic/HPF/LPF be at? The ones which areto the left of the hpf lpf multiplier. Right now both multipliers are at x1 and i have the HPF setting seleced on both switches which are to the right of the multiplier. Since i am using the amp for HPF to power my components, should all the knobs to the right of the multiplier be off? The lpf and hpf and bass boost knobs?
