Posted July 21, 200817 yr I have 2 1500d that I got from Dbr and 2 Fi Q15. My HU has a 3 preout which is for front, rear and sub. Each 1500d will power a single Q15 and I connect both amp with RCA. Let say RCA from HU connect to amp A and another RCA connect from BR out of amp A to input to amp B. Is this the right way to do it? Now when I scoped amp A it shows 40.4V with gains set at 3/4 of unclipped signal. Now when I scopped amp B with max gains I only got like 32V and it does not clip. So I decided to swap the RCA from HU to amp B. I got 41.5V with gains set at 3/4 of unclipped signal. But when I scopped amp A it has the same problem. Got 31V from it unclipped with max gains. Does anyone has similar problems like this? This is the first time I had to monos which previously I only had 1 mono and 4 channel amp. Can I assume that the RCA cable or the RCA input or output has problems. If yes how do I diagnose or troubleshoot. Thanks
July 21, 200817 yr Stop what you're doing and thoroughly read the manual on how the BR terminals work before you wreck something. I'm pretty sure you're doing it wrong from what I'm reading.
July 21, 200817 yr If you are using the BR connectors they MUST be strapped. Strapping instructions here:http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=7406
July 21, 200817 yr The BR terminals are for strapping the amps, not pass-thrus. you need to a "Y" connector to split your RCA's to send it to each amp.
July 22, 200817 yr Author thanksI didnt know that. I know someone who run 2 revo amps had this kind of settings without problem and I believe that the 1500d setting is similar. Plan to run it seperately each will power its own sub. Can I strap it together and power each sub or do I have to wire the sub together as well?
July 22, 200817 yr If you are strapping them you need to wire the subs together as a "single" 2 ohm load.Otherwise you need to buy Y-Splitters to give signal into the regular input of each amp separately.
July 23, 200817 yr Author ThanksBought a pair of Y splitter and everything is what its suppose to be. Will do scopping to check whether the amp is not damage.
