Posted July 23, 200817 yr i have had a couple pioneer 980's that had ground problems, then on the 3rd one i had for over a year with no problems. Now i havent had a stereo in almost a year ( bought a bike and never drive truck), now i am putting stereo in truck. I would like the new 800prs, but have still read of many people having trouble with pioneer ground problems. What headunit does everyone use comparable to the pioneer? Locally, only choices here are pioneer, very few being premier models, alpine, and some lower end kenwoods. thanks for help
July 24, 200817 yr Admin I have not had any issues with my PRS-880. There is a fix if you have the ground problem, I just forget where the picture is.
July 24, 200817 yr there is a fix but it doesn't always work either. I switched to eclipse though part of me does miss the pioneer. you can go with alpine too but more importantly, what features are you looking for?
July 24, 200817 yr Buy it from a real dealer and there are no issues, the either seem to have the problem (really rare) or don't.If you want alternatives, it would really, really help if you stated what features that you like off of it.
July 25, 200817 yr Author i liked my 790 alot, and the 800 has alot more on it except bluetooth, but im not looking for that. I like the eq features and all the crossovers, i am just going to go ahead and get the 800. I will keep ya posted of any problems or what i think of it
