i'm curious of the sq of the h2 15.2

i know it gets loud. i'm only puttion about 900 watts to it at the max right now and it makes my eyes shake.

i'm yet to tweek with my gain or anything.

nor have i tried it out with different types of music as i only put it on last week.

i'm really curious as to if anyone has heard one of these

and has heard a xxx or brahama or w7

in a ported enclosure and could compare them honestly

  • Admin

I have heard all 4 subs, but never next to each other with very close set ups, but by design the W7 is an excellent SQ sub, but very pricey, the brahma is very very close to the XXX, both are very good all around subs, but I have an H2 but I have not heard it next to any of the others since i have had it

what do you think of it sq wise?

like i said i haven't even begun to play with it.

i'm just curious i can't find reviews on it. except one but its buy a guy with a picture of one in his avatar.

  • Admin

well my box is not the best for SQ, by the specs it is going to sound great sealed

if i remember correctly you have a 3ft^3 ported?

i have 3ft^3 ported tuned to 31hz

so far i'm very impressed with the h2. i haven't tried it with real quick bass or anything real musical. that'll be tomorrow.

i'm gonna throw some slipknot to test the quickness. not sure what to use for the musical testing

DL the mercedes SQ test tape I posted up on here

They changed all of the songs to new stuff and I don't like it as much. Do you still have a copy of the older stuff?

I have the old songs which were really good, I can sned them to you via email or ftp maybe, or transfer on AIM

so i decided this thing can handle quick bass.

but my cd player can't take the vibrations of it...

doesn't skip over railroad tracks, off road, or pot holes.

but the vibrations in the car make it skip...

how many watts you running to yours?

whats your box tuned to?

what are the chances of hitting a tone lower than 31 hz during regular music listening?

  • Admin

the box is 33 hz the amp is an Orion 2500D and not very much music drop below 35hz on a regular basis

  • Author

how much wattage you regularly running to it..

i'm kinda scared to use my full wattage. i don't want to fry it.

i'm getting alot of feedback saying it can't really handle that much

  • Admin

for teh sub I had a shop install the 2500D, because it was the begining of a show install and plans of fiberglass and everything, to my wonderful luck and excellent karma, I must not have been watching when they were setting the gains and I would say maybe 20 mins after install the sub blew,

thats what happens when you send a ton of power to a single sub with a tainted signal at the wrong gain

but dont worry about its power handeling, shane was sending 4 1200D's per H2 15 which is a lot more than double the power I was sending mine

ouch...

man...

i went and ran new wires and such..

turned my box around mounted my amp..

i don't like how my box sounds facing towards the trunk.

and i melted my power wire...

i think i need 0awg

i had 8awg

  • Author

oh and i GOT THE EXCURSION VIDEO UP...

CHECK SHOWOFF SECTION

for sure 8ga will cook in front of that amp. Go with at least 2g or better...

I am currently using a 15.2 H2 w/ my orion 1200d. I have it sealed right now. The box is entirely too big and i think there is a leak somewhere...lol But despite all these factors, it still sounds great and gets loud. Although it laying in my room now awaiting a modded mtx 1501 and a new ported box. I was thinking [email protected] sub and port of course. Im hoping it will give me the forceful loudness im looking for :cool32:

Anyway, bottom line, even though i havent fairly tested this woofer. I am still very impressed w/ it. Ill get back to you when i get it the install it deserves :slayer:

  • Admin

if you can keep your current up that amp is going to kick arse

Thanks, i hope so. I was going to get some dual 12's but...due to money issues and the fact that this thing can get a LOT louder...im going to play around w/ it for a while.
