Hey finally making some progress and decided to get the Q instead of BTL which will be here on the 3rd. Just wondering whats a good amp to power it at around 1000w-1500w at a 2ohm load. Also what are some good .5ohm stable amps out there and about how many watts would I be looking at running it at .5 instead of 2ohm

Plan on going with around a 3cu ported box tuned at around 32hz to go in a 03 honda civic coupe. (If this information helps)

Why did you order a Dual 1? You'll need to look at Kicker amps for that power now as most are stable at 2 ohms.

It would help to list a price range, maybe 2 SAE1000d's strapped @ 2ohms? If you are on a budget you can get one of the ebay refurb Rockford Power T5002's for like 250 shipped. I believe that they can handle 2ohms bridged and will produce about 1000 watts, but they might run a little on the warm and inefficient side in doing so. Alpine has a relatively inexpensive monoblock out that is supposed to do 1kw @ 2 ohms as well.

I was thinking of Alpine as well...or the Rockford "BBQs", or JBL BP1200.1's, PG T1200.1's/Titaniums, etc, etc Almost all can be found for very reasonable prices and will last a long time if properly used.

ok I emailed fi about trying to change to dual 2 instead of 1. I might be too late though being thats it's like 3 days into process and its expected to be here around the 3rd. The price range I'm working with is around 400.

I can vouch for that amp running 2ohm bridged as I had the T5002 powering my Fi Q 18 D1 wired in series. It was a very strong combination, but it did pull alot of current even though its output was 1040 WRMS. I do kinda miss it, but I would do a T10001bd before I go back to the inefficient class A/B 2 channel.

The RF T10001bd still does around 1000rms @2ohm and will be more efficient doing it. Cant go wrong with those amps

PG RSD 1200.1 would be more then enough power at 2ohms.

If Fi manages to switch it back to dual 2 ohm, the new saz 1200d would be perfect to power that Q (coming out soon).

Got the sub switched to dual 2 and have it at the house.
