Need some opinions! I am gonna be running a 3000d. I am gonna have good electrical. Should I stick with the 1ohm load and see what kind of power I can get out not dropping below 13 volts or since I have the electrical to back it up go with .5? What kinda power difference will I see?

my bet; will be not much due to thermal rise and you can say bye-bye to your warrenty

Day to day there really is no benefit to going to 1/2 ohm - your ears won't be able to tell, only the meter.

The practice of running under rated impedance comes from SPL competition with a well known and consistent impedance rise now everyone wants to do it daily.

stick with 1 ohm.

What kinda power difference will I see though? Wouldnt mind running it at .5 for better numbers =D

just do all your wire jumping outside of the box... by either utilizing the dual terminal cups or d blocks if ur stright wiring it. Then you can run 1ohm daily and .5 at comps

That would be 2ohm daily or 0.5ohm at comps.

If you have a dmm you could get actual output voltages each way

you mean you never thought a team member would be so helpful and steer guys away from problems as i have tested 3000ds at 1/2ohms with great results but i think i know what im doing a little more than this guy. 1 ohm he could clipp it, get voltage drop and still be kinda safe. at half he wont be.

and even that vid of you showing us your voltage drop shiit. for 1 i seen your foot hit the gas peddle about 3 or 4 times on the corner of the screen, and 2 you werent even playing it at full tilt.

well like sundownz "jacob" said the difference that you can actually hear is slight or maybe none at all. if your going comps i say its a go. and if you have that much electrical id say do it.

not even worth running at .5, especially if you are worried about your amp. i look at it like,"do i want to fry 800 bucks?". sure i'd do it at a comp, burp that bish. ya 4 dekas u'd be fine. i run mine around .35 with two runs of 1/0 and a couple batts w/ a stock 140 alt.
