The JL w1 is an overpriced joke, IMO this shouldn't even be sold.

I barely have more than that into my system:

Pio 880, Seas CA18rnx, LPG 25nfa, Mach 5 IXL 12.2, JL 1000/1, JL 450/4, 1/0, and 4+ rolls of Raamat. In comparison what you outlined is worth about 10% of what is in my truck.

The gear you have outlined would be really easy to install. Why not try it yourself?

definitely don't pay 1300 for that and definitely try installing yourself. F-150s are pretty easy to install in. No real tight places and the truck is higher so you aren't bending over the whole time.

Where in NC are you? If you're anywhere near the Triangle area you're not too far from where I'm at when I'm down there.

I'd say 99% of us on here taught ourselves how to install a stereo. It's really simple. If you buy from crutchfield you can also get noob friendly instructions for your install.

it seems like your getting ripped off considering that i paid around 1800$ for my system. you should definatly do a little research and learn how to install it yourself and build your own box. car pannels are usually either held by tiny hidden screws or snap into place and a box is pretty easy to make also. once you figure oput your box specs your just enter them into the box calculator provided on this site and it will give you the exact dimensions that the wood has to be cut. just print bring to your local hardware store and give them the dimensions and they will cut you the wood perfectly, then just put the box together like leggo. and once you see how easy it is to install yourself you can start charging others to do it for them.

I say we go back to the drawing board and have a set budget, space limitations, and desired sound. Then we can help give you a good idea on deals on equipment and help with installation ideas.

Type up the answers to what denim posted, and slow down. I don't mean that in a bad way, but seriously slow down. That's the number one mistake people make, they get in a hurry to spend the money and get a system and end up with something they don't like. So....step back and quit worrying, there's a ton of info here, both in old posts (search) and from the current members.

This is what i would do:

Find a single item to buy through Crutchfield. Probably a headunit is your best bet cause even though they are overpriced they give you EVERYTHING you need to install it. When they send you the stuff, whatever it maybe be...speakers, amp, receiver, etc they give you a little booklet that tells you pretty much all you need to know to install basic stereo components. this way you aren't running back and forth to the computer, Make you crutchfield purchase first and get that little book, read it cover to cover a couple times and any questions that you have, come back here and ask. Read this before ordering all your wiring, etc and you will most likely end up with what you need to do the install and not have to take 7 trips to best buy to pick up terminals, wire, etc. I'm pretty sure they still include this guide although its been a LONG time since i ordered car audio from them so ask

Budget around 1k , my space is the back seat which i cant take out but i have about 9 inches of hieght and two feet wide and a foot deep. and i want a system that can play clear music with a good bass

Some good deals going around right now on the Rockford Power series refurbs on ebay, i believe the T3002 will put down around 6-700 rms if not more bridged @ 2 ohms and only costs 170 plus ship. If you are looking for a decent set of cheap coaxials check out kicker, for a sub on a budget a type R is better then a W1 and you will probably be happy with it and they perform well in very small enclosure so good for limited space in a truck. Head unit is up to you.

denim will steer you right, i promise....time is a great thing, god only knows, I am still planning my system for my truck and i have been planning it and going over it for around 9 months already.

cdt components are still on special on ebay for 100$ instead of 250$(with upgraded tweets and cross-overs). some people love cdt others hate em' , it's all a matter of preference when it comes to speakers unless they are very obvious at being crap like my buddies sony xplodes.
