Posted September 25, 200816 yr Photos of the new exhausttrue dual with DI/DO 50 Series FlowmasterVery dirty truck at the momentComparison shot of 2000 GMC Z71 (1" larger tire and T bars cranked 1" up from stock, stock Z71 Rear) and The Z (T bars decranked 1" from stock, 2" lift blocks removed) Total Difference at mirrors = 3"And finally got her cleaned up
September 25, 200816 yr Its a nice truck. I wish I could find a 2000ish for cheap. Really dig those. Its still too high for me though.
September 25, 200816 yr Admin Nicely done on keeping the exhaust reserved and not sticking way out. I am jealous of all that room you have.
September 25, 200816 yr Nice work on the 5th exhaust system, lol. Now get rid of those ugly ass Z71 stickers!!
September 25, 200816 yr Admin Would love it if you paint matched the mirrors and the bumper. Love the monochrome look if you could not tell already.
September 25, 200816 yr I think this is pretty OK.And that really means it must kick ass. For trucks I'm more of a Lift with 30" inch tires kinda guy
September 25, 200816 yr Author The tires are 30" =P or closeI want to take off the rocker panels the Z71 stickerdebating on losing the 1500 and LS emblemsWant to color match the handles but am leaning on keeping the chrome mirror coversWant to color match the front bumber like this possiblyI really don't like the black plastic on the handles and top of the bumper
September 25, 200816 yr Color match the bumper and mirrors and loose the Z71, 1500, and LS badges. It is looking good though.
September 25, 200816 yr Author One day though I will have a black tool box so I'd like to keep some other black on the truck so it doesn't stick out. Silver toolbox is not an option imo
September 25, 200816 yr Have you thought of getting a fiberglass tanoue cover and getting tool boxes that fit behind the wheel wells instead of a regular one that sit on top of the bed rails?
September 26, 200816 yr Author hrmm really never thought of it.By behind the wheel wells you mean between the wells and tail gate?I think if I could work something with a box between wells and the cab I would be interested. Would have to have something so I could fit a sheet or 2 of ply under it for certain reasons
September 26, 200816 yr so, why do you have a z71 (off-road package 1500) and you lowered it and have only all-terains (wich i can sometimes understand, some people dont like the real aggresive thing), but why lower it?

Would have to have something so I could fit a sheet or 2 of ply under it for certain reasons They are the width of the wheel wells, and go from the wheel well to the tailgate, some go over the wheel wells too, I've seen some called 'pork chop toolboxes'. You can still fit 4x8 lumber in it without a problem.

He debadged, dropped it and added 5 spoke Titan wheels. I really think I want the Titan wheels as welland yes it is a Z71 as well. just don't know how my truck will respond with the flairs
September 26, 200816 yr i mean, im not disrespecting you or anything, i just never understood that, especially when i see people with 4X4 diesels or duallys dropped and bagged on the ground, just kinda goes right over my head i guess, but i honestly like the way that truck looks, even with the rims

(ex: Lower, level truck has less aerodynamic drag)With my truck lowered it actually looks perfect pulling my buddies boat (the only boat I really ever pull) since both the boat and the truck are perfectly level and if I'm ever on a slick ramp I may need 4wd to pull it out.At the beach I don't need suspension to get over anything but the 4wd comes in handy in the soft sand or pulling people outOnce I pull the Z71 stickers off and I'm sitting at a light on a damp day unsuspecting victims will be quite surprised when I "somehow" hook Now lowered duallys.... were on the same pageYou must be short though if bagged duallys go right over your head...
September 26, 200816 yr haha, i didnt mean they went over my head literally, lol, but sorry i didnt know what terrain you drive your truck in, i should have asked that first
September 26, 200816 yr Author Good, Dad always told me not too have flashy rims, they only draw attention and help you get your stuff stolen
September 26, 200816 yr Good, Dad always told me not too have flashy rims, they only draw attention and help you get your stuff stolen It wasn't a good kind of bland.I'd much prefer a set of black steelies.
