My laptops screen got fudgeed up... the backlight won't light up, and so you can barely see whats on the screen... like BARELY... so I broke out my old AMD machine... 1.4gig 512MB Ram and got the hard drive wiped and re install everything and this thing ain't doin half bad

1.4GHz ain't old...

The 75MHz P1 Dell XPi that I have is old :)

Still runs, although the battery regulator got toasted by a lightning strike about five years ago, so the internal battery won't hold a charge anymore. Runs Windows 95.

Thinking about putting it back in service for an automatic packet radio system...just need a dumb terminal to sit there and crunch numbers and maybe input some text every now and then. Nothing processor heavy, or even Internet based. Would all be done via serial port.

I'll be about an hour away from that car this weekend...should I take a test drive? :D :D

I'm scared to even meet the owner of such a monstrosity...I'm afraid I'll break out laughing and end up getting decked.
