Decent solid state preamps are in the $100 ballpark.

I'm looking at a Parasound half-rack space unit, or one made by Creek...plenty of options around that pricetag.

And I really need to be going now...but it's like crack, I just need another post...

The real IHOP sucked tonight.

First, there were maybe five tables taken up in the whole place. I get seated next to one full of choral music majors...three guys, and this one chick with one of those loud, grating laughs.

I was talking on the phone, and I made it very obvious at one point..."Yeah, out of the whole place they sit me next to one of the LOUDEST..." That shut them up for a few minutes.

She seriously needed a punch to the ovaries. Yeah, I was outnumbered three to one, but c'mon, they're vocal chorus majors, I figure I could take two of them out and still make a somewhat clean getaway.
