Sorry to hear that, they have a tendency to actually move a bit easier with an engine.

I prefer inboards as well...hopefully next year I can get another cruiser but I have to sell the house first.

At teh end of next week I will be rowing. Going up to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. Chasing shallow Lake Trout, smallies, and some walleyes.

I have been to mercury. Cool place.

I make a few trips up there each year, about the most serene place I ahve evar been...that and no people.

It is amazing how few people are willing to vacation where they have to work at it. In the BWCA no motors, wheels, sails, or anything mechanized is allowed. You have to carry your stuff on your back including your boat in between lakes. It tends to weed out the wimps.

I'm just too old and lazy to row anymore. We take an occasional canoe trip. But float downstream most of the time
