My cheapo tubage setup is a Behringer T1953 tube preamp (rack gear). I want to hear what Jim's been talking about, and I enjoy screwing around with alot of different stuff. I think toward the end of this summer I'm going to buy one of the foreplay III (I think, I know its got foreplay in the name, Jim knows wtf I'm talking about) preamp kits to screw around with and see how I like it.

As Thylantyr over on "the other forum" put it, it takes a bit of the edge off of a full SS setup. I like the way it sounds currently, it isn't to much of the "tube" sound I don't believe, but I"m realllllly anxious to get my new tubes (Ei Elite golds) in and see how much that changes things going from the factory behringer tubes to what I understand as some of the best 12AX7's there are.

(Plus tubes look sweet.... )

You've got to realize, I've only been into audio, heavily, for about a year. And I've already got a full rack gear setup for my house/dorm setup... Yikes.
