For a belt-drive table, they're one of the best values...

But there's something about a direct drive like the Technics that I like...maybe it's the fact it weighs 30lbs. and is built to survive a nuclear explosion and not knock the tonearm out of alignment It's much beefier than most "audiophile" tables.

That would be it.

I wonder what stuff we have on vinyl laying around, I may have to look around after supper.

I bought my first Vinyl the other day, ZZtop for $1, got a few other goodies too. It's sweet walking out of my local music place with 4 albums for under $15

Direct drive = motor noise! You need super ears, and about $50k in equipment but it's there!

I don't think we have anything to play vinyl around here, I might have to go look for a player tonite also.

The Technics arm also has a really nice vertical tracking angle adjustment, something that Rega makes you pay $250 for or so on the RB-250 or RB-300 tonearms.
