It all depends on what you want. I suggest reading the manual if you can't figure it out, it'll tell you peak voltage, true RMS, relative dB levels, it'll calculate audio power (you tell it what the impedence is), and other cool stuff.

If you just want to tell when clipping is all you need to see is the waveform.
