Any idea if it'd be safe to run a DCX, and two amps at low output ranges (total under 400watts guessing) on a power inverter for a short period of time? *under 2hrs*

I have no idea how clean the power is out of a power inverter.

Anyone ever ran pro audio gear off of a power inverter in a car??
True sinewave inverters aren't cheap.
But just got a 2nd order at 5khz LR crossover built for the BIB's *only one done* and much to my disappointment the tweeter seems rather harsh.

Maybe cross the tweet over higher with a shallower slope? 5K seems awfully low for that combo.

Most consumer level units are "modified power" in marketspeak, which means square waves...I wouldn't trust them for anything beyond a coffeemaker or cell phone charger.

Good to know.

Them are pricey

You should see the pricetag on inverters meant for interfacing with the power grid :) 'Spensive stuff...but if you're making/selling back your own electricity it pays for itself.

My roommates think my audio equipment keeps multiplying like a fungus and call the cable jackets that get missed after I clean up from stripping wires the 'spores'. They did give me free reign of the house audio wise... they realize now that it might not have been a wise idea. :D
