This looks perfect for my computer speaker needs. If I ran something like this how would I power it? Also I would want to put a little 6.5" woofer for sub duty. How hard is it to build a crossover? Its something I've really been wanting to learn. and we've been going over current flow and resistance in Phys II so it seems it would go hand in hand.

Lastly how much would this setup run?

Keep one hand resin free at all times. If your laying mat on a mold. I usually apply resin , then lay the mat over top of the resin , then dab it with the brush to remove the air bubbles .

A small integrated amp would work well for that. I'd go with vintage gear because 1) for the price range you're probably looking at, mass market gear sucks and 2) you won't need a lot of power.

Building crossovers is easy, designing them is not.

The crossover is pretty easy with the schematic, I don't remember the cost when I added it up but it wasn't all that much. As for power any cheap pawn shop receiver would do you justice. A ported mli6.5 with a 70w amp could make a decent sub to go with it.

I always put the mat on a piece of fiberglass and paint it with resin, then pick it up and put it on the object, then use the wet brush to push out all of the air bubbles.

If it sticks to the brush your in trouble, cause that means your resin is starting to cure. Better hurry up

Use epoxy resin instead of polyester is about the only way really. You can drill holes, or scuff the plastic really roughly to give the resin something to hold on to . But it will eventually come loose using polyester resin.

tried the brush shotrly after your reply and it didn't stick.

also turns out it didn't cure. i guess i put too little mekp
