Remember that scene from Hot Shots Part Deux with the death count and "BLOODIEST FILM EVER"? Basically 90 minutes of that sums up Rambo. If you have the chance make sure to catch it at a theater with DLP projection and a head exploding sound system. Great times, great times. The A bomb scene had me rolling :lickscreen:

Methinks the 880 will go in my boat. Going to sell pretty much everything when the car/truck go. Have to start from scratch.

Things that will be going for sure:

Eclipse 8454

PG zx475ti -- not pristine, but in good shape

PG M44 -- physically a little beat, but a darling of an amp

JL 1000/1

JL 450/4 -- both black

Eclipse PA5532

DX-28

Soundsplinter Rlp

A pair of CA18's

A pair of LPG 25nfa

JCV Arsenal 4v deck of some sort (3 outs, mp3 comp)

Pioneer 2v deck (2outs, mp3 comp)

Sony minidisc deck (lol)

I know I have some other stuff, but time to start from scratch. Pretty much only going to keep the 880 and my RF150 -- just can't sell the amp I've had since 91. I may rethink the amps, but for the boat I really want efficiency and for the new ride I want small amps that are perfect for a 3way. I'd love an Audison 5.1 and some small 2 chn. :)

PM me a price on that 8454... it isn't the 55, but is it still active capable?

Still active capable, I'd be glad to PM you a price but you can't have it for a month or so. Still interested?

I've never been one to rush an sq build, sure i'm interested. I'll see what kind of deal i can get for you on that Audison 5.1 too.

I need to be good, i'm already looking at one of jacobs prototype subs which if I went that route would easily kill my budget just to keep my ears happy.

I'm leaning towards hertz speakers or going the active route. I could even go active with the hertz speakers but I would probably go with Image dynamics horns depending on price and a pair of dls or something to that effect 7" mids.

ANy Audi/VW people out there? MY boss has a 98 A4 Quattro 1.8T for sale and I'm thinking about picking it up. It's got 120K, black leather, Blose system, all the goodies and for only $3K. Thats half of what it's worth. I figure I can drive it for a couple years and still recoup my original investment at the least, but I'm sketchy on the maintenance. I know nothing about them aside from their high price to maintain. Any help?

Sorry, I can't help you too much.

It's a quattro, so I belive you don't get the stupid dual mass flywheel which means one possible expense is out.

Our VW never seemed too expensive to maintain...aside from the major work, we rarely open the hood.

:woot:

If you made me a fair offer I'd take it.

correction.... I could afford the speakers and the build but I can't afford the amplification =(

Can't remember, is this in a dorm, apartment or house?

That shall be a dorm. But every now and then I would take it over to my friends house for parties too. They have this nice big long living room, 50" flat screen, and absolutely no tunes

Interesting list...

Stuff I was going to keep before, but realize that it has value and is in my closet. If I am to buy all new gear (ie w205, blackbird, H701, Hat H8 3 way, Audison) I need to unload what I have and not pretend to keep it for the future. The only monkeywrench will be what I decide to do for the boat.

Beware, moving your gear for parties is a serious pain in the ass.

Been there, done that.

It is a pain, but it is usually well worth the effort.

If you want something that can be mobile for parties, I'd make a PA style monitor using a 12/15 and a horn, something like the Eminence LTA driver and a horn that you like, passive crossover (with BSC), old QSC rack amp, ~400w per channel, and a cheaper preamp.

Ryan B., got a question...

I put solid oak suprabaffles on the BIB's, used only glue and clamps. Solid hardwood is hygroscopic. Did I just fuck myself over on that one?
