Whats wrong with Ultimate Frisbee?

I was waiting for this from you. :drink40:

People like to poo poo on it. But I have played against some of the best in the world. Heck, this past weekend got to play with a few nationals players. And from an insider, it is much harder and faster then people understand.

:drink40:

I know, going to Carleton sort of introduces you to ultimate.

Although if I tried to actually play it I'd probably end up dead, I love watching a good soccer game...

There are three mainstream sports I cannot stand; Hockey, soccer, and golf. Now, I love to PLAY golf, but hate watching it. I'd probably be the same with hockey and soccer, but I cannot sit and watch them, they just bore me to death. Many people say the same of baseball which I love to both play and watch, but for some reason, I just cannot stand hockey and soccer at all. I can tolerate watching golf as long as it's highlights.

OH, and Nascar, what is the point.

bleh@sports. just, bleh.

now git offa my lawn

docinthemachine is one of several readers to send word of a new poll published in Nature showing unprecedented levels of cognitive performance-enhancing drug abuse by top academic scientists. The poll, conducted among subscribers to Nature, surveyed 1,400 scientists from 60 nations (70% from the US). 20% reported using performance-enhancing drugs. Among the drug-using population, 62% used Ritalin, 44% used Provigil, and 15% used beta-blockers like Inderal. Frequency of use was evenly divided among those who used drugs daily, weekly, monthly, and once a year. All such use without a prescription is illegal.

Hockey is the fastest paced team sport there is, not sure how it can be boring...although the w felt that way until she understood the rules. Now she even cheers. Not that the way the Wild played yesterday is worth cheering for. :(

9/10, not knowing the rules is what has people knocking hockey. I know you played... when you have played, it brings a whole other level of appreciation.

BTW, the Wild weren't THAT bad... out shot Colorado badly, more physical than them, but that line with Forsberg is a tough one. If they play the whole series like last night, they will run Colorado into the end boards.

I know, but to fight all season for the action to happen at home and then give it away right in game 1 is frustrating.

So, when are we being invited over to your mansion Sean? :drink40:fing05.gif

We SERIOUSLY need to have a campus that allows beer. If there was a lounge area in the engineering build that had a good full size slate pool table, couches and allowed beer, I wouldn't ever leave. Hell, if only 60% of the time I'm actually doing something, but I'm there allllll the time, I'd still get more done, and be a lot happier doing it.
