  • Chill- Lemme break it down as simple as I can on some of us here. The IHoP is like a big dysfunctional family. -M5 would be the uncle everyone respects and takes advice from. We may not like how he p

Tom: What days are you going up to Sean's? I'll see if I can get a MTS training time during the same time.

June 12-15, roughly

There is a training that starts the 13th IIRC. I'll see if I can get in that one.

how long does the training last?

You know, I never thought you could have a TV that's too big, but I know better now. Might have to step down to 42".

... well.. it depends on the space and application. For my HT room 120-175 is about right I would guess when I design that. Living room eh... 40-60 ish.. Bedroom is more of a 30-40 type place. Kitchen... well, gotta get into the 15-20's.

Funny thing is, even I think those are overkill and I am usually the king of overkill.

Damn, I was hoping we could convince you to go overkill on full range horns. :(

I need to hear more, but not my thing atm.

The BK-16's are puny :)

You need to get into the people-sized stuff to really get the midbass...and the non-Sigma Fostex's don't have anywhere near the top end that the Sig's do...

I wasn't basing my thoughts on the BK16's...

I think I will go with RAAM I can't find anything negative about it. thinner where I want, double up where I want.

they claim more flexable too.

Never used SS pro, but I did use Raam and Raam is about half the price and if you double Raam its thicker than SS pro.

Both are great products

I'm having trouble finding a difference between the 2 products, are there any sid by side compairsons that anyone knows of?

Not testing the effectiveness. If I had some free time I'd do it, but it is a lot of work.

Raam is asphalt based (IIRC) while SS is butyl

and check out www.sounddeadenershowdown.com

Raam is also butyl. :(

BTW acid, did you like spectrum? I'm always skeptical about paint on dead. It sounds pretty dang hard to create cost effectively. They have that sludge which looked thick enough that it might do something and still get into odd places.

I've only used about a pint of it to get into the weird areas that couldn't be reached with mat

I find it excessively amusing to apply though

lol I just wanted to play with sludge too LOL

raam mat says butyl.. here is a snipit from theirweb site.

***

The result of more than five years of development, testing and installation, RAAMmat BXT is designed for maximum effectiveness and ease of application. RAAMmat BXT is a premium Butyl mat - the only mat we sell and the only mat we use ourselves.

******

ok, butyl it is, I just wasn't sure

yes, Raam is very much Butyl. I would want that misconception to run wild.

Raam is good enough for Sean (///M5)

SS is good enough for Acidburn

Both are good enough lol

I really don't know how SS or Raam could be different other that the thickness or a different foil backing. One thing people complain about is that Raam comes in a roll, while SS comes in sheets. Really makes no difference to me

Either are good enough for me. Of course, the reason I preferred the Raamat when I bought mine was because it was thinner. ie I could choose where I wanted to apply more; however, at that time I could get Raamat much cheaper than I can now and haven't weighed the options since then. I think it is much closer now.

Gee, you posted my thoughts before I did. Exactly my reasoning.

I can barely justify one TV, never mind that many :D

Sean: It looks like I'll be coming up for MTS training sometime this summer, not sure on the dates yet though.

Do the Maggies fit in your vehicle?

:peepwall: Can I answer this? :D

You would have said something but I have to ask, with the temp extremes here and humidity have you had and experience of failure. My roof is a big concern it's terrible and needs some desperate attention.

hehe.

sounds like something from stuff white people like.

My dream and I will make it come true, is to have media in every room of my dream house, 99% music though. I'm working on building a server/game machine now to serve music. I just need to find a house and then DIY stereo in every room.

Very original :)

Clean too...although those wheels in a slightly smaller size would be nicer :P

actually camaro's like that are common place in Japan, it looks to either have a sr20det motor or the inline 6 from the skyline (which could actually be the sr20det, I just can't remember my japanese inline sixes right now, I just woke up).
