so... dielectric grease should just have a thin coat on the inside of the boot and not just gobs of it shot into the boot.....

I always put it on the ceramic and enough so that it maintains a waterproof seal with the outer boot.

Yeah I have heard that....

I read one article where someone said they "loaded it up". I thought since the 5.4's fords in my year have some many natural moisture problems, and I do know off road guys will just coat the heck out of them, I took that for shoving a few gobs on there. Wrong. It's running better for sure right now, but I may have just givin myself a poor connection. We shall see as time goes on. It was still misfirign a bit this morning, but definately not half as bad. I may have a broken COP though... it is only 2 months old but maybe moisture caused some kind of internal short...

I swear to god I'm just gonna buy a crate engine and squeeze it in. Anyone wanna buy my 5.4 2v mod engine???

;)

it will go to a great fund.

when i wash my motor my 4.6 allways misses for a few days.... sucks too cause i like to keep a clean shinny motor

What is in fact, the best way to clean a motor?

clean T0P

I thought about a custom tuner for it... but I doubt it would give me the power upgrade I wanted. A turbo system would be nice.

I really like the rear mounted turbo designs from STS.

Jon I hate that misfire feeling so damn much. It drives nuts every time.

I used the blaster at the coin op car wash with Silver. Worked relatively well...

most people can hose down their engine bay with no problems.

Unless you have a late 90's Ford.

;)

At some point the front of the fuse holder for the mega fuse from the Alt to the batt popped off. I have a damn plastic bag on it taped now.

school is over until september, work finished until fall, internship starts in late june.... lots of drinking to be done? :ehh:

FYI, if anyone is looking I may be getting rid of two Mach 5 MAW 15's here in the next month or two. The house audio sub is going to be the Mag, don't have a need for the MAW's then.

what are the specs on those?

Don't have a clue, I know Mark recommends a 2.2cube box for sealed applications, but I'd have to go digging for the actual specs.

just curious, most of my yearly funds are coming in the next month or so. if they're versatile enough woofers it might just work out for me. i'm considering removing my rear seats and sealing off my trunk to throw two fifteens back there. i was thinking about doing two btl's on a 3500d but there's no reason i cant build the box and use my 1500 until i've got the extra $4000 for woofers, batteries, amps and installation costs. :D

not to mention another daily driver to take the place of my hopefully soon to be hoopty ground pounder :P

<- envious on the people who are on vacation :P

only problem is the marine fog has been sitting on the coast for over a week now. i'm a spoiled california boy who doesn't know what to do with himself if it's not at least 75 degrees and sunny outside.

......

Heck, I wouldn't mind bad weather too much.

It's just that this semester has been an uphill battle. Lots of projects, tests, homeworks and they finally got to me :(

The homework I tried to do today filled the cup. Couldn't for the life of me even modify someone's homework. Still got 2 lab exams and 1 test untill finals actually start. Everybody I spoke to that passed this semester said that finals were like a vacation compared to the rest of the semester.

Ryan2, how much power are you running to the FF85k's ? Any special baffle work, like chamfering ?

No idea, the gain is 'about there' or what sounded good. Nothing special yet. This summer I'm taking the dash back out and deadening the basket as well as I can, and also trying some polyfill behind them and possibly felting inside the dash opening. Not quite sure yet.

I just need to rip it all out and put somethign else in there.

Send it Al Poppito. You really don't know the potential that thing has, especially with the new Trick Flow heads coming out. They outflow the current crop of 4V heads.
