  • Chill- Lemme break it down as simple as I can on some of us here. The IHoP is like a big dysfunctional family. -M5 would be the uncle everyone respects and takes advice from. We may not like how he p

OOOoOOoOooOh you meant mixer. As in kitchenaide!?

Yes I have one. I think it's the cheepest of any of them, but I can't tell why it costs less. All the info on their web site shows similar features.

KitchenAid

5qt instead of 6qt, slightly wimpier motor, plastic parts on some places instead of all metal.

I like that one better than the big dog (which I have) though as mine doesn't tilt which sucks. Mine raises up and down which is a bitch to get stuff in and out of in comparison.

When kneading dough, sometimes mine dances all over the counter. :P

I think a triple batch of dough might kill yours. I assume your dough hook is plastic. Mine is metal, but I think either will be way more than strong enough :)

Metal hook. Just covered in a nylon. It's probably pot aluminum, so they coat it. The dang paddle beater chipped on me on the top in fact.

<-- been using a copper sauce pan as a press when needed

Makes a mess though.

I used to just get a teapot boiling and use that. Pig should be better.

;)

The Nealies are not AMAZING, but it's fun to watch them cook together. The only people on food network I can't handle are rachel R, and the blond who makes "half home made" and always does desert. Otherwise the TV is on in the background all the time, and 75% of the time it's the food network.

I honestly can't stand watching FN anymore outside of Alton Brown

You aren't supposed to put them in the dishwasher.

high income low credit is particularly amusing. I mean wtf are you thinking?

I carry no balance on my credit cards, have no loans outside of my house, and have scores well into the 800's. The only knock on my credit is that I have a revolving balance usually of around $5-10k but that is almost all business expenses and monthly so not much I can do about it. As a percentage of what my cards support though it is less than 10% so I find it amusing they call it a high revolving balance.

Mostly people who learned to make money but not how to pay themselves first. My wife would be one if I wasn't around, she will have an amazing degree and hopefully a good income to match it someday. She didn't know how to save though and we're weening her off the CC's.

I blame the W or my room mate.

Mom still runs hers through the dishwasher though. It just isn't worth the hassle to her, she would rather replace one a year or whatever rate they burn out.

What I cannot stand is seeing a knife in the dishwasher. If my new knives end up in there it's all over. It will be wwIII, IV, V, and VI in my kitchen.

I have some really really low grade paring knives that go in there in a rush. I don't care about that enough to chastise, but not the other knives. Never. Ever.

Just realized we have a couple knives that we received as a wedding present. I never ever use them for anything, but since they came from the W's family they sit in a drawer. She uses the paring knife sometimes because it is dull. That gets a ride in the dishwasher.

She likes to use a dull knife?

anybody have a good one they'd like to share?

While I love honest to god Chinese, I'm an absolute whore for General Tso's (tikka masala too)
