LOOK MA, I'M A LUMBERJACK!!

WTF is the trick there. I normally have to rent a splitter, but my axe doesn't look like that either...

What kind of axe do you have? I have a wood burning stove and just use a splitting maul. I would never cut pieces that small, but I've never needed a splitter.

Anyone watching the Gran Prix today? If so, the streets they are racing on, I go down all the time.

Is it on TV?

It's not a bulletproof vest either. The material used for the clothes is what is bulletproof.

Where the fuck does the energy go? That is not real.

Wondered the same. They didn't discuss any details on 60 Minutes. I couldn't find a link to the video, but here's the article http://www.cbsnews.c...tag=mncol;lst;1

Admittedly I just skimmed the article because I watched the show, but all it says is"A system designed to radiate the energy from the point of impact, reducing the blow on the body". I'm not surprised they don't explain it.

I don't believe he is using a full powered round, even the recoil in his hand is sub-par. When I first watched it I thought he was going to load a .357mag to test it with but no way that's what he used.

A maul is a must for splitting wood, it helps if the wood you're using is as easy to split as that is and the chain does wonders for keeping it standing.

According to the article it's sold as bullet resistant. It mentioned that they offer various levels of protection. A tee shirt weighs around 4 lbs. The article mentions the clothes being able to protect against most handguns, but it never outright says whether or not it would offer protection against something heavier. I'm sure it doesn't and that's why it was approached the way it was.

It seems pretty effective from the video, but I've never had any problems just using a maul.

I would assume ABC.

1. We don't know how fresh the wood is.

2. We don't know what wood it is.

3. The Fiskars axes are very very light (I love mauls)

4. The wood is probably frozen...

Adrian, the LED's will be put in a clear tube that attaches to the top of the rocket The tube is about 2 inches tall and the diameter is slightly wider than a 2032 battery.

I would love to put LED's on the bod of the rocket but the clear tube separates from the body of the rocket to deploy the parachute and there is no other descent place to put the batteries.

Edit: "the rocket" is a model rocket you can get at craft or hobby shops if I haven't already discussed.

Shit, a place where you can play with construction equipment...

I'm lucky I get to play and get payed for it :D

They should get people to do something useful and they would end up getting paid to let people build it for them.

That would be the ultimate Tom Sawyer.

The 'bad' part is that those who go there to play aren't qualified so they shouldn't be on a construction site.

Took me around 150 hours to get enough experience to work at a decent pace.

If that's the case, you need to be light, so I'd stick to something like this:

trying to help the aunt and uncle use a compuer is way too damn stressful. The aunt just got an ipad and she's using safari...she asks

"how do i go somewhere else?"

i reply "well where do you want to go?"

her... "i don't know?"

me "then i can't tell you how to get there?!?!?"

another instance

her "ok i closed all the windows, how do i go to a webpage?"

me "you just closed all the webpages, now you want to open one up? Why didn't you just go somewhere else on one of the pages?"

her "how do i do that?"

The gated community here got a new system and we all have to be loaded on it, fingerprint and everything. Well the aunt and uncle log in to check to make sure everything is ok (they have NO idea what they're doing, but the company gave them a link). So they see me under visitor (permanent) and they go through all they make me walk them through adding me under the family part. We get everything added then they want to delete me from the other section because "it might not work for you". I reply "well i've come and gone through the gate a dozen times and it's been working fine, so you think you should go in change a bunch of shit that you don't understand to keep it working?" They come back with a mind bottling "well what if nancy (other aunt) comes to visit? This new system is getting me so upset!"

"!?!?!?!!? then we'll add her in so that it works for her too?!?!? You're getting upset at something that's working fine and you're going in to change the settings and getting pissed off, you're going to fuck up what the IT guy did correctly in the first place and then go complain about it because it's not working correctly!!!!!"

and one last one, she's playing her solitaire app and an advertisement pops up, she asks what's going on...i reply "well that's an ad" she says "well how do i get rid of it?"

me.."well, buy the full version of the game instead of playing the free version"

her"well i've been playing solitaire on the other computer for years without a problem"

me "well you're the one that wanted an apple"

her "well we shouldn't have even bought this!"

...no shit

Werd, now where fdo I get them from and how do I match up my batteries to make sure I have enough juice?

just gotta do the maf!

What kind of power will you have for your supply?

http://www.ledsupply...-0-b5th45-1.php something like is ~3.6v, 3mm seems to be around 2.1V (superbrightleds.com)

take how many you plan on running and basically figure it just like running multiple subs. You can run them in series/parallel to get whatever final load you want so they all see a voltage in their usable range.

here's a nice calculator but I've never used it so I don't promise it's accurate

jordan, if i go military how often can I expect to be piss tested? Will it vary depending on what job I get stuck with?

Stefan, I didn't get to watch Fear and Loathing last night, but I watched it today. I see what you meant now. Good movie though.

Favorite part when they walk into the fbi / sheriff seminar and he still has coke under his nose...

FOGO is fun, and most of the time tasty but its so often overcooked.

It was made for guys like me. Lots of unrelenting meat from every angle.

I am a bit of a jerk when I order at places like that. Tell them to bring me only the undercooked items. Amusingly it works, but takes you longer to eat there. Otherwise indeed a problem.

So I'm going to need some LED's and a small battery to put on a hobby shop rocket. Don't have much time to type but wanted to put it out there.

Adrian, you got the 411 on LED? Used single LED and 2 2032's last time, need more LED's this time (would be cool to do 20)

What kind of LED's do you need ?

Underwater ones :)
