Fuck ipods and apple.

After the new hdd and battery, my ipod started freezing again when it's in the car. I hope I can get it working again without spending money and selling it so I can get a different version, maybe with better results.

Is it too much to ask to have a bit more storage room instead of writing cd's with mp3's ?

What iPod do you have? If you get a new one how much storage do you need?

4th gen, 20GB. It's more than enough storage but horrible reliability. I could do well with 4GB of storage, as long as it will play without hiccups.

The HDD ones are prone to failure. Especially one that old. I had a 5th gen and the logic board went out so I sold it for parts and got a 160GB. If all you need is 4GB I'd just get a flash based nano. I had an iPod touch and it didn't play nicely with my Alpine or Pio HU.

Roling back the iPods software to an earlier version(preferably before the hu was made) usually fixes any compatibility issues

That's what I'm thinking. A 3rd or 4th gen nano is ok. I don't need tons of storage, I just want it to play music

The only downside of buying a 4 year old iPod is the reliability factor. Obviously a flash based one will be a little more rugged than the HDD based versions. Battery performance isn't a huge deal though since you'll be using it in the car. 3rd gen Nanos sell for around $30 on my local CL. Not much of a loss if it craps out after a year.

My phone's got 4 gigs of memory. It can take up to 8 (card).

Did I mention it was released 5 years ago?

Can I control it through my head unit ?

No, but it can act as a HU itself. Or hook it to your HU via the 3.5 jack(if your has it as an option), or skip the HU entirely and send the signal directly to the amps.

These driver's resememble the ns-794-4a's at a way better price. What is the biggest differance between these 2 drivers acoustically? Is this to replace the 794's?

Those are the Mobile Reference drivers. They came out along with the originals but were tailored for automotive use. I remember auditioning a pair of these roughly 10-12 years ago, but could not justify spending $1K on a driver. IIRC, these were the first $1K retail driver in the automotive world.

Over time, the resonance from the injector could cause the line to fail, potentially leading to an engine fire. Volkswagen will replace the line with an improved piece and fit each injector with a vibration damper to prevent the failure from occurring in the future free of charge.

If its on during football or on the food network (obviously not on the second) I'd see it otherwise, not so much. Even then I pretty much only DVR so I don't see the commercials.
