I still have a few old ones. One with a weird filler, a couple with squeeze fill and 2 cartridge ones which I use at exams.

I love how they write. At least my old one. I tried a cheepy and a disposable and it was more like scratching paper with a tool that just happened to leave ink too.

Any of you guys have any experience with backpacking? I'm talking about 6-7 days on the trail with you and your backpack and travelling with enough water to last you 3-4 days at a time.

Going on a back packing trip over Christmas break and am going to need to get all the necessary supplies....

Lots, but I'd never carry water and would like to see you try. 4 days of backpacking would require over 50lbs of water for me. Not going to happen.

so we went to Wally World for a few things (I know, I know) and out of morbid curiosity I strolled through the meat and seafood section when I saw something. This has to be an isolated incident, I thought to myself. But then I saw it again...and again...and again. Turns out every steak, every chop, every roast, every piece of unprocessed, non-frozen beef, poultry, and pork in that store was marinated or brined in solution. Concentrations ranged from 5% all the way up to 20%. Disgusting.

Weird. Sams used to have the best meat. I really miss sams now that I switched to costco for some things. Costco is SO inconsistant on some items and the meat selection(read beef) is less that what I think is good.

Interesting. I have had exactly the opposite experience with Costco being a damn good place for meat.

OK, if I get the costco marked "prime" it's great. But the regular stuff is garbage IMO. Sams had a lot of prime cuts in stock every time I was in. All in the sealed bags. I can't even get a brisket with fat on it at costco. Just the super lean "flat". No rid roasts(bone or no bone). Smaller pork ribs. Costco is so dang hit or miss. I also like to have frozen scallops on hand. I know fresh is better but since I'm the only one in the house who likes them if I want them on a whim when just cooking for me it's great. The costco ones seam to be 20% or more smaller in size.

Maybe it's the oil spill. :shrugs:

I can't find the same cheese either. They rotate the sliced cheese so flipping often, and NEVER have munster. I <3 munster. It's the grilled cheese champ.

Have to go to wallmart to get a brisket in a packer. Most of the meat I buy at Costco is in a packer which is exactly how I want it. The exception is their lamb racks which are awesome.

Your costco must be 10x the place mine is......

I'll check out the lamb racks next time. I got a lamb roast the other day and it was FAN tastic.

So the RAC thing is kind of a bust; $10 an hour, mandatory 8 hours overtime (minimum) per week, mandatory Saturdays, and apparently I'm not just the sales guy; oh no, I also have to pack it on the truck, drive the truck, unload the truck, install the merchandise, service the merchandise when needed, and I'm also a collections agent on top of that. I'm willing to work my ass off but goddamn son...

Bonuses? Commissions? Tips? HA! I wish...

Granted, I think it's a bit much, especially given the pay, but in this economy, take what you can get and don't bitch. There are millions of people who would love just to have the opportunity to even interview with them.

You kind of have to as there is no water in the mountains, unless you go with out water for 4 days...

Better than sitting on your ass doing nothing with no money coming in.

True, but I also have the option to take a two/three semester JC cert program that escalators into a job at the local nuke plant

And you haven't jumped on that why? ? ? ?

application and FAFSA are both in, just waiting on acceptance and transcript review at this point basically; been pursuing both this and job searching simultaneously, I'm thinking cert program is going to win out :D

Beware of the home owner's association. Considered this country's most basic, ruthless unit of government, HOAs are typically organized and manned by retirees with little better to do than tell you what to do with your property – something A.J. Vizzi recently learned the hard way. When Vizzi purchased his home in Odessa, Florida, he was told he would be allowed to park his Ford F-350 Super Duty in his home's driveway, even though the neighborhood's rules forbade keeping vehicles anywhere other than the garage. The truck didn't fit in the home's garage.

The local HOA soon changed its mind, and before long a lawsuit ensued. In 2008, a judge ruled in Vizzi's favor, but the association quickly appealed the decision. In March, a second judge sided with Vizzi, and the courts awarded him $187,000 in legal fees to be paid by the HOA. In total, the association claims that the ordeal has cost over $300,000, including the cash it now has to pay to Vizzi.

I know of a few that are just find but yes by and large fuck HOAs

Are there any pen guys here? Penophiles? That sounds absolutely horrible.... anyway, it may sound a bit stupid but I want a fountain pen. It wrote so great.

I grew up using one and I cannot find anything like it. They all seam insanely expencive, or sucky and scratchy.

:(

I use Faber-Castell and Micron brand pens at work for stencils.
