Where did you find white velocity amps? Mine were black and I've never seen white ones. I thought you were running the design refs?

Different model years. The black Velocity amps were the older models, the white are newer models. They were getting blown out a couple years ago so they were really good deals for the power and quality.

I haven't had the DR's for several years. Sold off the majority of my collection.

Not really true. However it could cause more wear and tear... but still not likely on the engine, but yes the starter.

It may hold true on a carburetor, and an old one, but nothing built in the last 20-30 years.

I'm confused, what does the starter and carb have to do with each other. I must be missing something, as using the starter more would cause more wear wouldn't it?

I was just adding to your post, sorry. To alleviate the confusion, the carb could cause the engine to use more fuel on start up versus more modern engines.

You were spot on on the wear issue, but even that will be negligible.

it would be a stretch but a warm start-up may be worse on the starter(solenoid), because of the ambient heat. That's one of those things that can sound good on paper and never work in real-life though. Definitely wouldn't cause me to not shut my car off for 5min.
