How does it compare to the ML63, X5M, Cayenne Turbo or Grand Cherokee SRT8?

I haven't driven the new turbo chili and am pretty sure I'd like it better, but it will not be affordable.

It makes the X5M feel like a pickup truck, okay not really, more like an Escalade. The ML63 is unrefined and all over the place in comparison. Completely outclassed in both speed and how it's delivered. The Cherokee is a cheaper ML. Pretty much same feel and hell almost the same interior. Sort of makes the ML an overpriced option albeit way better looking.

Can't quite tow enough for my boat, but if we move by the time that I get a new car I will only need to tow from launch to house and not up North which is no biggie. Rated for 5k lbs. My boat is supposedly 3400lbs; however, when weighed on trailer it was closer to 6800lbs. That was full of gas and gear though so you can easily shave a few hundred off that for the winter and going 20mph versus 75 makes that a no problem for getting it in and out.

I do have to figure out how big of a snowmobile trailer I am going to get and what it'll weigh as I don't want to be under for legal reasons if shit hits the fan.

2355lbs + 600*4 = 4755lbs and considering my sleds dry are under 450lb and I only plan on 3 99% of the time I should be golden.

Speaking of car dealerships I just drove an X6M for my lunch break. I have one word to say about it:

Clarkson ripped the non-M version to pieces, Motorweek gave it horrible reviews, and Edmunds only favored it for it's speed.

As compared to what? Not the first time I've disagreed with Clarkson, but I seriously don't understand why you wouldn't like it. I didn't actually expect to, but it does everything that the GT cars of old offered in a much more utilitarian package. I fully expect to like the P car more, but considering the price difference I should.

Sure he wasn't ripping the X5? That I'd agree with. May have been nice 10 years ago or something when it was released, but it's a dinosaur now.

I hated the x6

It was harsh and felt clumsyand really claustrophobic inside. At the time I was much chubbier though so maybe the uncomfortable everything wouldnt be so bad now.

Ah, just watched it. Drove with the old idrive which was terrible. Replaced in 2010. The paddles are actually easy to use, just not intuitive at first. Personally I like one handed controls. He also complained about the suspension on tough roads and well, it's WAY better than the ML for that. Why he didn't like it on smooth roads confuses the shit out of me. He does claim that it isn't comfortable since it's tall.

His performance concerns were with the little diesel and again about the size. I can't get smaller and still tow...

As for the offroad problems, he is bugged by no low, no locking diff, and no ride height. None of which would do me any good. As for his tire problems off road, that's laughable.

And he gives props to the POS Land Rover that passes it. ROFL.

In not going to lie to you Sean I was sad from the second I got in the x6. maybe the letter m, and a now understanding how bmw does things would change my mind.

So bieing uncomfortable plus the old idrive may have made me feel the pea under the suspension even if it wasnt there. It was 4-5 years ago.

I used to be all AMG AMG... But now having played with the current m3 I think AMG is more a winner in the big cars.... And the SL. I will probably always love the SL.

That SL55 was soooo abused, but I still wanted it deeply. It is a joy cockpit. Just runs on hate and blended up virgins for your driving pleasure. I cant even contemplate the v12 and brabus machines.

Turning is more fun, but blasting out of a turn with a warp drive is a hoot too.
