I completely agree.

Wait... when you said " trained for one armed " do you mean you want to get better at doingnone armed pull ups?

If so then you do one armed ones until you cannot do anymore, then do weighted ones.

:-)

You be like it's so simple, I don't beleive..check it out though.

I've been doing weighted chins, and it's been working quite well, but I'm wondering what would get me to a one arm chin first: continuing the weighted chins, or doing one arm chins + other hand assisting with pinky grip.

I'm talking chins at the moment, not pull ups, and currently I can't do any one armed ones, I can only do negatives, or with assisted pinky.

Oooooooooh. Goal is one armed chins. You want to know fastest way to geth there.

When you start the work out, do assisted first until you are worn out, then move to weighted ones.

My gym has a machine that you kneel on and it provides assistance. I think that would be ideal as you could use consistent steps in getting to your goal.

I think one arm chins etc are a bit silly, but the do make you look kinda cool. Especially if you are a muscular person. If you are mega skinny it isn't as bro-cool and makes even less sense to me.

Generally I don't have goals like that-other then gymnastic progressions, but thought it would be fun to train for it.

Not sure what you mean by looking cool if your muscular, but not if your skinny. Either way it requires a lot of strength, strength relative to one's body-weight.

Sort of akin to power to weight ratio.

Friday is opening night at the new location. Lets hope for a killer turn out, I sure would like to make a little money this year.

Damn, it is the season again, isn't it? I drive by 2 large and well known haunts on my way to work every day. X-treme Fear (their website is awful, it locks down a lot of computers so i will not link it here) and the Woods of Terror. The WOT is awesome.

Anyways, best of luck this year. Hope you scare some sexy little chick out of her panties

Thanks Seth. I will have to check those haunts out.

When you say you need some intra-workout supplement, do you feel like your lacking some energy for your workouts because the lower daily intake? If so, you could try adding branched chain amino acids to your water. I mix 5g of bcaa with a little bit of flavored protein (I add the protein mainly to lessen the bitter taste from bcaa) with water. I drink half 10 minutes before workout, and sip the rest throughout.

Looking for quicker recovery rates at heavier lifts. But BCCA seems to be the typical call

Sandt. If you are open to suggestion I would try a couple things.

The first would to work out with a split program. As in arms one day, chest one day, legs another day, and back one day. I always recomend pyramids. 2 warm up, then your heaviest lift, then 2 more sets decending. I always recommend going to failure. I do about 10 different lifts per muscle group.

If that doesn't pass muster for you, doing 10x10 split work outs is a nightmare. Keep the time between sets to under 10 seconds. You use a "moderate" weight. By the 8th set it is brutal. The pumps can be insane. There is also a possibility that repetitious work outs with no breaks, up for 60 min or so can drastie increase GH levels over more "casual" heavy lifting techniques.

As for the durring work out drinks we know that carbs or fats will stop a GH pulse. So using a carb drink durring might inhibit the fat loss goals. BCAA drinks are great. I dont mix with protein, but that might be fine. A calorie free crystal light is a GREAT option to mask the flavor if you have to.

Honestly, I just don't have the time for longer/more frequent workouts. I do a lot of side work and spend a lot of time in schools and training and even getting in 3 a week workouts is difficult if not impossible. This week I had to push my monday to Sunday because of schools Monday and Tuesday, and I am hoping my side job Wednesday will afford me time in the evening to lift before bed.
