I've had friends fly to Europe to shoot in world cups and the airlines misplaces their gun cases, and when shooting the finals with a borrowed gun the airline returns it. First air trip ever I saw a busted aluminum welded rifle case that had 5k in precision rifle in it, same trip they broke a cheap aluminum pistol case of ours. If the case hadn't been duct taped closed, things would have been a lot different. I'll only fly with pelican/storm style cases now.
