Sean, you think you could help me with a physics problem?

bump just in case you missed it

I can surely try, and somehow I missed that...

thanks

A skier starts at the top of a very large, frictionless snowball, with a very small, initial speed, and skis straight down the side. At what point does she lose contact with the snowball and fly off tangent? That is, at the instant she loses contact with the snowball, what angle a does a radial line from the center of the snowball to the skier make with the verticle?

i dont even know where to begin

90 degrees? Just kind of thinking about it logically, which probably is incorrect...

By definition tangent is 90 degrees. Sounds like a trick question.

i know it's not 90 degrees

the skier has a horizontal velocity component as she goes down the ball so that would make her fly off before she reaches 90 degrees
