But line arrays in a dorm room??

Now wouldn't that be the definition of overkill?

Not really

The volume knob will tell you that

plus if you need to bring down the house.. you can

Now please enlighten me on one subject here.

My understand of line arrays and planars, is that you need to have the planars the full height of the array. Why is this? Is it to create the desired dispersion over the full field or what? If this is necessary, when they start stacking, the price goes up ALOT. I really don't want to look at ~600 in planars right now... But if its necessary, I may have to think about it.

If you have ever heard line arrays you can literally walk around the room and it sounds the same.

There is no sweet spot.

However, i seel it pointless to have the speakers way up high and way down low since your ears are never there.

If you bought 2 pairs of tweeters per tower and put them just above and below ear level i think that would work just fine.

Most line arrays have a single ribbon that is the length of the tower. Which prevents this problem

I have never had the pleasure of hearing line arrays, I've wanted to make some for quite awhile now though. I think I've been pushed over the edge :ohnoes9:

I do like the idea of not as many tweeters (but the ones that are implemented) at ear level though, most likely what I'll do is spread them out from sitting level to stand level. Maybe 4 per tower.

Same here.

I couldn't do that.

OChem just flat out sucks. Sociology - intro course or further studies?

sociology 2, the one right after intro. international sociology or something like that.

Summer classes are harsh on the quarter system. Cramming a 4 unit class into 5 weeks is a bit too much. I've been falling asleep in all my classes because they're twice as long as usual.

more radar detectors the better.

one on each corner of the vehicle...cops aint catching me speeding suckas'

j00 don't understand them then, they will interfere with each other regretably; and yes, even the good ones.

how effective are radar detectors? how easy is it to catch me using one?

the newer ones have no problem cloaking themselves. It seems in VA radar detectors and radar jammers are illegal, but radar detector detector jammers are not. In less words you can have a detector that jams their capability to detect that you have a radar detector, but you can't have the radar detector itself. :puzzled:

well it depends... if it detects it before you are with in rang/sight of the cop you are good to go.

If you are going 20mph over and it detects it and you slam on the breaks and the cop sees that, you are likely SOL.

detectors are illegal in alot of states so be careful.  Risk getting a speeding ticket before you get a speeding ticket and a radar detector violation and possibly reckless driving. :)

A lot of states????? Incorrect, only 2 and DC.
