I've got 4 of the 7" ones laying around doin nothing.

Would anyone be interested in bookshelves or MTM's constructed set up for ACTIVE *read no crossover*? I'll make some and sell them if someone would like to purchase them. I also have a couple of the Dayton 4.60$ 6ohm tweets sitting around too. I'm just trying to figure out wtf to do with the four drivers. I also kinda need money for a full set of planars for a line array. I've learned that I need to go big or go home on the arrays, and it looks like I'm gonna try to get the funds for the full set of planars.

I'm going to be talking with you in the near future...seeing about how much shipping would be on some cabinets. Easy build though.

And yeah, factory tubes suck, but remember, there was a point in time when Mullards and Telefunkens were considered "stock tubes"... In fact, the guy I bought my new pre from included some Mullard 6DJ8's...or whatever their funky European number is called.

Any idea on what you would want the cabinets constructed out of?

Course I also went from factory behringer tubes to EI Elite Golds...

The plans I have call for 1/2" stock, I think...birch ply would be fine, I could always stain it darker.

I'm thinking about a pair of Buschhorns for FE103's in my bedroom...I say a relatively easy build because the only thing you have to watch for are the angles of the horn mouth, it uses a rear-firing angled horn instead of the stepped thing that Fostex does. Also makes it lighter.

Do you want to put felt or somethin inside compression chamber? And are you picky on the type of wire used to run inside it? I'm just tryin to get an idea here.

Oh and I don't know how much plywood goes for up there, but at my lumberyard here it is somethin like 58 bucks for a 1/2" sheet of birch ply. *And I'm gonna need probably 4 sheets of 3/4" at 61 bucks a pop, ouch*

Ouch...for just the medium grade good-on-both-sides cabinet stuff? I guess they expect you to bring lube along with your tape measure when you go...

What I'm interested in is a case of those Fostex drivers that they have listed as 4 bucks a piece if you buy a case of 12. It says probably best used in free air.

So I'm thinking splurge on a case, mount them on a board in an array fashion and see what happens?

Is the room even big enough for you to get out of the near-near-near-nearield? My concern would be really funky sounding highs, kinda like what I'm getting with the Klipsch's being so close to the HLCDs.

Damn, Lowes has BB right now for $32 in 3/4. Oak was $31, and my two sheets of oversized MDF were a total of $21.97 today.

I bought this AWESOME Freud finishing blade for the saw. This thing slices through 3/4" MDF like it's styrofoam and leaves the prettiest edge. I've never seen a better edge or used a nicer blade. 40T titanium tipped carbide with some very nice cooling fins and it's only 1/16" thick. To top that off, it was only $20.

Went to Harbor freight to buy some brads, and they had a combination nailer/stapler on sale for $20. Picked that up cuz my Bostitch can only handle 1-5/8" brads max, while this cheapo can go up to 2", and as luck would have it, the ram in my Bostitch broke on me, so I had to use the new one. It never works like that. Irony. . .

THis is the first enclosure I've nailed too, and I have cut my asembly time by 60%. I love it. Never going back to screws again!

I use 1 1/2" brads for enclosures. 2" have a tendency to shoot out the side.
