Topwater is my fav :)

Mine too , with suspending jerk baits coming in a close second. :)

I like the floaters as well, especially when I am jerk heavy.

:ehh:

Gots some sanding to do :)

i wanna learn how to build stuff out of fg.

maybe i have to find the materials first...

Start small , and get a feeling for how the resin set's up , how the mat and cloth are different . Watch the resin soak into a piece of each. Notice the color change . get that down , and your well on your way :)

so, the only 'special' supply i'd need is the resin ?

what's that mat made out of ? what's the first material you put resin on ?

To mess around you will need

resin and mekp ( catalyst )

mat and or cloth ( made of fiberglass )

Brush or two

something to mix it in preferably disposable

and some gloves

You can expirement with different kinds of materials for stretching shapes . Basic thing your looking for is high polyester content , and good stretch. Lycra is a good one , a is fleece , t shirt works well for lite projects. :)

thank you kind sir. now, time to ask a a local installer to find out where i can get the supplies.

if i am not asking too much, when you want to make a strong box / panel (like a sub box) is necessary to add multiple layers of mat ? if so, what do you put between them ?

Depends , if it's big and flat . Make it out of wood . If it has some curves or not so large . You can do a couple different things . You can simply go layer upon layer of mat , switching the bias 90 degrees each layer until you get it as stiff as you want . Don't put anything in between , it's just mat or cloth and resin . When the resin cures the layers become one mass . But if weight is a concern , you can use reinforcment ribbing in between a couple layers. And cut down the number of layers to get the same stiffness . You can lay a couple layers of mat , then some lengths of poly rope . Soak the rope in the resin , then lay it on the mat . Let it cure then throw a couple more layers of mat over it :)

And before you ask Mr. Acid no pictures until everything is done . No free peaks :D:)

you asked for it. no pix means i'm visiting next week.

Bring your dust mask , I have plenty of sandpaper and beer :)

i don't have a dust mask :(

am i still allowed to come ?

I geuss you could always go ninja style with the t-shirt :)

a certain person was/still is here that made this forum painful to read

i wonder who....

Just say the word and I'll leave.

Ramos, I need a pic of ALL your RF gear.  Almost picked up some older Punch 8s like I had in high school, but the guy had already sold them.

I'm gonna be doing the inventory thing here shortly for insurance . :)

the home page

www.soundsolutionsaudio.com

Had a friend call me the other day . Said he bought a pos deck at the flea market , and needed me to install it for him real quick . I asked him what kind, and he said some off brand japanese chit . Cool , told him to come on over . Told him to stop and pick up a dash kit and a plug from wally world on his way. He shows up , bringing the usual payment ( 12 pack of corona ) . I said let's see how big of a pos you bought . He pulled out the deck , and I damn near fainted . That sob got a nakamichi cd700 II at the fooking flea market for $50 :o Why can't I get that lucky ? :)

:(

What flea market, sounds like I need to make a visit ;)
