I walked down through the arts building the other day ... what an adventure for me.

I'm used to my building ... guys with arms popping out of their shirts, or the athletes on the school teams.

Pink hair, pants with 24" leg openings, tears drawn on faces, etc.

Now I know why they stick the drama and music students literally in the basement of the school in the middle of nowhere.

One of my good friends here is an art major... hes just a little different. Thinks way out there in left field most of the time, makes me want to just backhandhim sometimes with some of the stuff he comes up with.

one thing... i measured the pre-out voltage on the RCAs going into the 1500D, i set the HU volume so they were at 5.4 volts. with the gain all the way down, i saw ~48v at the terminals

that's 2300w into a 1 ohm load, is there any way im actually getting that much power?

I assume that was measured without your driver as a load so no. Turn them down Tom.

the gain is as far down as it goes, and the Eclipse shouldnt be clipping yet because of its 8v pre's

we're going to put the clamp meter on it today and see what that shows

Maybe you need to gain down the h/u. From somewhere I thought the Sundowns couldn't take a full 8v...not that it happens very long anyways.

-Home theatre setup for future. Meh, I am a 2chn guy so this will work as well as anything If I need more power it drives off-board amps.

-Can't take delivery on the Promitheus for 5 weeks which isn't fast enough for whole home stereo while the house is being shown. Eventually my office pre-amplifier.

-Not enough time to really shop for the keeper preamp for the living room. Now I can breathe and take my time.

As for a review, really hard to compare for me. My Adcom pre shit the bed and only played mono and I am driving Definitive Dipole rears front firing It is not for my listening pleasure now, but for people who are interested in seeing the house. Seems to have a brighter top end though and stereo separation

Can't wait to move. I okayed the copious design and build of furniture when we move, she actually wants to help!

*goes to look for reviews of the 24tx and hopes it is of at least near Elite quality

I am nearly Canadian. Own some land a whopping 4 miles out near Crosby. Grew up in Moorhead (Fargo ND and Moorhead are separated by the Red River which amusingly flows North).
