As for the 4.6 it is heavy My original goal was to do exactly that and buy a Mark VIII and utilize the IRS and engine mating it to a T56 in a stang. However the amount of fabwork required is WAY beyond my welding skills and while my brother-in-law is a professional welder he is also lazy so I'd have to pay him to do it all. It would be cheaper than a shop, but I don't want to push it all that far. If the world works perfect I will buy this fall and be driving next summer.

It's lighter than any pushrod enginewith an iron block, and only slightly more than an aluminum-blocked counterpart, plus there are kits for direct bolt-ins for the modular engine fanily in the early engine bays. Hell the stock modular blocks are capable of handling up to and sometimes past 1000HP, so you are actually at an advantage. Ever price a ford aluminum block? You can get an entire modular for the same price.

There are also kits available for FI that are simply plug and play and so many options as far as stand-alone engine management and wiring harnesses.

MY 500/1s better sell for more than $200/pc.

most relaxing vacation this year..by far

best part is grandma's old sewing machine needs restoration and i've brought home most of the parts. the woodworking in the table is really nice for the age.

the dub got a new flywheel and clutch. vw techs must have been really stupid when they came up with the dual mass flywheel...darn thing got out of balance and the car was shaking at idle. luckily, single mass flywheels from older vw 4 cyl engines fit just perfect. along with a vr6 clutch

just need to finish the system in the jeep and then it's time for a chip and nozzeles for the dub

Just got done installing my CD player into the truck and cleaning the inside. The dash kit I got the first time was wrong, so I went to wal-mart and got one there to use... A red interior truck, and now it has this black square in the center of it where the crap wal-mart dash kit is. It looks like crap pretty much, but I really dont' care that much considering the trucks paint is falling off too. No Tom, no pics, the phone is dead and my camera I loaned to my brother.
