  • Chill- Lemme break it down as simple as I can on some of us here. The IHoP is like a big dysfunctional family. -M5 would be the uncle everyone respects and takes advice from. We may not like how he p

Yay, finally got through ... Asked if the panel was available in matte, the answer is no. Asked what type of panel it was, he said LCD, I explained to him that there are several different types of LCD panels (IPS, MVA, PVA, TN+Film) and that I'm working w/ digital photography where an IPS panel is preferred for its uniformity and colour accuracy. He put me back on hold :(

I have a feeling this is going to be a long phone call ...

rofl you should have known better than to ask a person over the phone what kind of Panel is being used. He was probably like "uhhhhhhhhhhh." I wish I could afford IPS panels, Either a Dell or Nec. heh. Go Go TN panel!!!

I see Apple also updated the Mac Mini today, as well. Hmm, if it's not an IPS panel on the iMac, I might just advise my GF to get a Mac Mini w/ 2 GB of RAM, a decent 24" monitor (i.e. Dell 2407WFP-HC), and a 500 GB external hard drive for around $1650 instead of getting the 24" iMac for $2450 ($800 difference + taxes = ~$900 difference total) ...

CPU:

Mini - 2 GHz Core 2 Duo

iMac - 2.8 GHz Core 2 Duo

Memory:

Mini - 2 GB PC2-5300 SODIMM

iMac - 2 GB PC2-5300 SODIMM

Hard Drive:

Mini - 120 GB SATA + 500 GB External

iMac - 500 GB SATA

Graphics:

Mini - Intel GMA 950 integrated

iMac - ATI HD 2600 Pro GDDR3

Obviously the integrated graphics are a huge disadvantage and the CPU is a LOT faster in the iMac, but I can buy a lot of chit for $900 ...

what the heck does SODIMM mean. I mean I know what a DIMM is(dual inline memory module) but I don't recall this SO-dimm you speak of ;x.

I hope I get a p9 this time.....I got screwed out of the last P9 deal I tried to make. If I don't get this one I'll forever just go the h701 route. Only problem is, I have no idea were to buy the DEQ, guess I'll have to keep an eye out on ebay.

well that and getting the s/c back on the engine. I really wish i would have been able to clean the other parts of the engine but at this stage i just want this thing running, fudge the looks

LOoks great Matt. Personally I don't like polished engines so eff it and get her running :). Functional and clean is all that is necessary.

i need car help again, ordering exhaust wrap, (err header wrap?). two questions..

#1. woven ceramics VS fiberglass which is more effective? i don't care about much else, just which one works better and is there enough of a difference for me to give a damn

#2. how much do i need? most is 2" wide, remember i only have a v-6 but i still have the crossover pipe as well, i'm guessing 20-25' would be plenty but it seems 50' rolls are the norm.

I have no idea, but if no one is able to help let me know and I will call one of the engineers at 3M's cat engineering center for you.

You are trying to make me jealous.
