I get in, a chit ton of people here... Catch up and now only a few left. :(

I came up with a new design for some kickass looking *I think* home speakers these past couple days and actually have drawn it out halfass today while burning an hour.

I'd kinda like some opinions on it.

*Goes to get paper and camera to post pics*

Thinking about trying the Lagatia L6s.

two words baaddddd asssssss . :) just wish they were cheaper :(

Heres my idea, basically a floor mounted TM design with a 'different' looking enclosure/stand design. It would all be veneer in cherry or birdseye maple, or variations of such types of Nice looking hard woods.

Opinions on how god awful ugly it is?

English class, later on. Ryan #2 they don't look bad.

I like it , different is good . :)

Not entirely sure how I want to make the bent mount.

I see two options, the easy way that will look nice, and the harder way that will look even better.

1. 1.5" thick slab of either ply with veneer or actually do a hard wood slab and just lay the curve out and cut it on a bandsaw.

2. Slight modification of the design and do steam bending.

Are you looking at someones 2 way plans?

Haven't really put to much effort into the 2-way setup yet, but I want to do something higher end, no skimping.

Oh, the base will be bigger, its not quite to scale, but I do like the sand filling idea.

Of course the arm/enclosure/base will all be bolted together (studs and set up so you can't see any hardware) so you can take it apart for transport. That way I could make the bases as heave as I wanted.

You might want to bow out on the backside more to compensate for the speaker on the front.

If you do go after Mark's 2 way 8" design you will need to make sure that the RS28 you get will actually meet its spec otherwise they will be stressed. The build consistency, in particular the Fs isn't very consistent. The pair I have measure okay though.

I will probably build the Modula MT's at some point just for the hell of it since I have a set of the Daytons I bought when they were on major sale. Of course the crossover on those costs more than the drivers, but that is sort of expected with Jon's Cauer designs.

I need to build me something for the garage , god knows I got enough driver laying around :)
