Eh, the .17HMR would suck for killing people, the bullet isn't big enough.

The .17 does pack a hell of a punch though for what it is. It'll put a clean hole through 10ga sheet metal, no complaints at all about the bullet except that wind plays hell with it.

Now if it was an M1A SOCOM, that'd be a little different

I've heard that the Savages from wal-mart have troubles feeding the first round from the clip, and the Marlins that you find elsewhere, the quality of the stock is horrible. My boss bought a Marlin and its one of the ugliest guns I've ever seen.
