You might work in a Civil Engg shop if you use 6"x12" concrete cylinders as weights when gluing items.

EDIT: By DD I mean a car that will be driven to work (5 miles) everyday, wal-mart runs, 65-mile trip about every two weeks and very occassional road trips. = <10K per year

I'd buy the one with detailed service records that is 100% up to date.

The E36 will be more fun but less luxurious as well. Reliability is a wash, again the cleaner nicer car will be better.
