YAY! Got my money and just the next day Sears has my TV on sale. After my discount, I'll be paying $900. Can't beat that for a $1700 TV.

Sounds about like the price I paid for mine, but then I jacked it back up again by buying the 3yr warranty on it.

House party was a success last night, no po-po and no fights so that worked out. Plenty of friends, plenty of booze. One of the guys my roommate works with brought by a milk crate FILLED with hard liquor that he wasn't going to drink so he just gave it to use. Getting 200$+ of free booze is great! :)

Just went and got it. I actually was able to get a discount on the warranty too (it's nice when you work at the place).

Total was $1249 after taxes and the 5 year warranty. I'll consider that good for a 50" plasma. Only 720P, but I'll never notice the difference (for $1Kmore).

I need to do the same although this time it is the stereo for the house :)

That's far more fun ;)fing05.gif

And far more money. The first part isn't quite so exciting as whole house audio comes before the fun audio. Mostly since I have to do the wiring for other things, but I figure I might as well integrate a "system" while I am at it. Then I can start scheming on what to build for mains for three different rooms.

Welcome to 2008. I will have stereo in more than 10 rooms and not a single one of them will have that trendy but useless surround sound crap.

we paid right at $1k (with a $500 discount) for our lg 50 plasma, but it's 1080, and got an additional 2 year warranty.

i wish we had gotten the lcd, but due to reliabilty and repair issues, the plasma is the only way to go. monday we find out if she won the other 50 or not, lol. if she did, we'll probably trade for teh new stove and a 32. or possibly two 32s, one for each bedroom.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

Well this has amassed to one shit fucking weekend

I wish I didn't have so many windows, $1k for a 50 and I'd have one today. Friggin' LCD's with 120hz are more than $2500

That's the main reason I went with the plasma. That and the detail richer on the plasma IMO. For the money I wanted to spend, it was the obvious choice.

There are many LCDs out with an anti-glare coating on them. We have some at Sears they have this crazy contraption they set up to show you the difference. They're all rather expensive though.
