Clean XP install coming up in about 30 minutes. Just finishing back-ups....

Would love to go to Ubuntu 100% but can't give up all the programs that are MS-only.

Anything non-MS based would put a smile on my face.

going trout fishing this morning. Hopefully catch lunch!

Since Kent and Ramos are in here... Ideas as to what to get for a concealed carry gun for me this summer. I can't conceal a full size very well with my size, I'm 5'10" 145lbs. I'm thinking a Walther PPK in .380. Any other recommendations?

kel-tech p3at or the new ruger lsp, same caliber and all but the same gun. both .380, both will fit in your pocket. i have the kel tech. can't limp wrist it, but otherwise a decent backup. under $300.

if you are thinking walther, the new ppswould be my choice. can be had in 9mm or .40 s&w. alot of firepower in that slim ass frame.

anything from kahr, if you have enough budget. but then again, the walther is close.

any compact 1911. kimber aegis is a good one in 9mm, or any one in .45 acp/GAP

though with your size, the pps in 9mm would be just about perfect.

i've gotta run, time for class

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

The springfiled armory xd's would be a nice choice as well they come in .45 acp, .40 sw, and 9mm and are offered in a standard 5", compact 4", and a subcompact 3" .

I love me some springfield lol :)

The first batch of xd's they released had jamming problems. They don't have that problem any more due to a slight reworking of the slide :)

let me put my kel-tek in my pocket, in it's holster and see if you can see it, lol. it's tiny, weighs less then 9 ounces and in stuff like cargo shorts/pants, you'll forget it's there. but it's a backup. but for me, it's primary as illinois doesn't have legal conceal carry. so i tote that around, been pulled over with it in my pocket, never even got asked about it.

The only good thing about the communist wealth is the ease of getting a concealed weapons permit , and an ass load of gun dealers :D I tend to keep the kimber under the car seat. Your concealed weapons permit shows up when the cops run your vehicle tags here. If it's a young cocky cop I usually prepare for the rodney king treatment. If it's an older cop, they usually just walk up to the car and ask where my firearm is. :)

pointed at you, don't eff with me

LOL Barney Fife would empty a clip in my fat ass before I got the D out for don't :D

Years ago I was with my brother and one of his friends coming back from skeet shooting at the range in the national forest. My brothers friend had a neon pink water pistol that my brother jokingly gave him because he wasn't old enough to buy a gun. He filled it with water and was shooting us with it to annoy us. Someone we passed saw him with the gun in his hand ( it's neon pink mind you ) and called 911 and reported a bunch of teenagers firing machine guns at street signs out of the car windows as we drove by. SSSSSSSoooooooooo about half way home we hear sirens blaring , I turn to look and there was at least 10 cop cars behind us. Told my brother I think they are after us. So he pulled over , then we were literally yanked out of the car by 20 or so officers with gun's drawn. I spent 15 minutes laying face down on hot ass asphalt in the middle of a major highway ( 460 for those around here ) with Barney Fife standing nervously with one foot on the back of my neck , and his gun pointed directly at my head. I don't mess with the cops around here, these crack head sob's are just itching for a reason to shoot somebody. :(

I like how you have keys & truck keys.

You'd laugh if you saw my keychain, it has the truck remote and the truck key. I have another keychain that is the same for the Bm'er. I HATE chit in my pockets. :P

x2

I end up having this HUGE key mess in my pocket though. I almost purchased a key wallet because I was so tired of it, and use them so often. Just lessen the bulk some how.

As for a pistol, that's the same reason I don't carry. Too hard to conceal and remain comfortable.

I can't exactly conceal my firearms, they are all of the rifle/shotgun type.

My best friend and I would eventually like to pick up a barrett model 99 .50 caliber rifle. I already shoot the mile.

I had a model 95 for a while I picked up in an estate sale. Good lord that thing was a beast . I shot a couple ground hogs at about 3/4 of a mile with it once. There was nothing left :D Watched my uncle split bowling pins at 1000 yds with it open sights :o I ended up selling it because I had no where to shoot it, and $35 a shell was a little too pricy for plinking :)

Yea, the ammo is quite expensive at that point. My baby's are all .22 rifles for the 50 foot*.

I have my m1911 style with tritium ( COuld be photo luminescent, but I'm almost sure its tritium) sights. It's no match grade, but so nice. Only problem is I have shorter fingers and that comes into play a bit, otherwise I love the palm feel and since my wrist is thicker, it handles like a dream to me. More round and a slightly shorter grip lenth by a few MM would be perfect.

THinking XD, but when I shot it... I missed my 1911. lol I am used to the extra metal.. it's comforting to me lol.
