rough week it sounds like. I'm going to tear it down as gentle as possible but eventualy it will be canabilized. Maybe make a nice kitchen table. If I trimmed in some of the spots and put a huge oak top on it I could probably sell that for a few grand

=/

How big is it? I do need an outdoor table...slate would work for that

I have a 10 foot.

hmmmmm

If Ford is anything like GM they've been hemorrhaging unnecessary costs for years. Only way either can survive is streamlining and simplifying their products like the imports have since the beginning.

Simplifying?? Audi has more than 12 engines in Europe in the A6 I wouldn't call that simple. The American automotive only hope is to be rid of the fucking unions.

Seagate needs to hurry up and just release that 2TB HDD so the prices of 1TBs sinks...

It will be a little while, according to their subsuppliers which I just spent the past two weeks visiting there are a few issues. Putting 6 platters in a drive wouldn't make it so great either.

Yeah, I'd imagine it'd be a noisy SOB with that many platters.

reliable too *exudes sarcasm

Bullshit.

That reminds me of a story the school's paper ran a few days ago, where they confused ethanol with biodiesel...we have how many chemical engineers on campus, and you can't get that right?

what real decks come with a silver face aside from the p9? I need 3way+sub or at least an optical out so i can still use my 701 processor.

the 880 and I have a noiseless one and need a 701

time for teh sleepz

Sorry to hear of the troubles Chris.....................spend more time here...........we will get ya bac to normal.

Thanks for the well wishes on the knee man!!!!

And the woman found a Trans Am in the back of the lot at work. Its been there for a few years by the looks of it. If they haven't paid their storage fees in the past 12 mths we can apply for a abandoned title. Will need a minimum 4k to get it in decent shape but the body drive train and rims and rubber all still look good.

I tend to agree with most of that article. I think raising crops of any kind for any kind of fuel is the wrong idea. Most of the world is already starting to starve for water, and the use of extra crops will just lead to more irrigation and faster depletion of the water sources. and I don't think wind is the answer either, as that depends on a variable input. I've always liked nuclear and solar power, although I knew solar was fairly inefficient. But if everybody would cover their roofs with solar panels I think that's enough to power the house. It's just normally cost prohibitive. Hydro is iffy. There are only so many places that we can put a dam. But doesn't the Hoover dam power all of Las Vegas plus some? That's quite a drain and that dam does a good job at that.

eh i've thought about the 880 again but i just can't bring myself to do it. I don't think the denon has an optical out either. If i'm going to a processor it has to be optical.

You'd have to have your head shoved pretty far up your ass to not realize growing that amount of crops would be disastrous. The amount of pressure it'd put on the soils, combined with all the fertilizers, combined with narrowing the diversity of crops even more, resulting in a much higher chance of loss of crops and better stronger insects from the pesticides that will be further developed with better funding, add in the small chance already that malaria could enter the states in strong numbers. No thank you.

and admittedly i didn't read the article but i'm sure it's about growing too much corn for ethanol or similar arguement

My problem with that article was that he assumed that all RE would be done on a commercial scale, which I think is a stupid idea anyway. With a country the size of the US, the only way it makes sense is to do it on the residential scale, from the bottom-up. No transmission line losses, no waste of land to massive commercial facilities.

Let me know... I'm starting my crusaide on saturday... if the 350 pound slate is toom uch for me to move up the spiral staircase... well... I have sledge and tarp and what's left won't make a good table...

:D

Easiest way I found to move a slate table is to buy two cases of beer and call up a few friends. :)

I tried... they all have some family member that needs a kidney or somethign that their wife is dragging them to. They all really wish they could help, but you know how it goes.

That's why I have a room mate. He helps pay the MTG and good labor.
