If it was me I would sell it instantly, it'll only fall in value. If you rock out on 360 most of the time, you are not going to switch to PC just because you have a new one.

i was planning to get into more pc gaming this winter, the idea was to build a very budget pc as my parents gift to me (they give me credit card w/ a spending limit and i do the shopping )

parts alone cost toms hardware $2500, im not sure if i would sell it in one piece or part it out because im not sure if it will be delivered to me reassembled.

but im trying to justify keeping it.. here are my thoughts.

lets say i build a budget pc for about 600 this winter like i planed to do, then throughout my next 2 years of college i do some modest upgrading, maybe new cpu and graphics so lets say another 400 bucks by the time im out of school. Following college i decided i want to do a new build with new hardware, assuming there will be new chips out. now lets also assume that this new computer will cost about 1200 bucks and be about the same performance as the computer i won, this would mean that i gain nothing buy selling my current computer if i will just be rebuilding it in 3-4 years.

now in the advent of an emergency i would no doubt sell it off.

and as far as money goes i really dont give a shit about it... i dont have alot, im not rich, i just dont worry about it... if i have a bill to pay ill put more hours in at work and get the cash. (im sure ill grow out of this attitude by the time i get out of college... and have to be a grown up )
