Would there be anything wrong with running the 3000 at .5ohms DAILY?

Thanks,

why do you wanna run it that low?

you also are gonna need a hell of a charging system

I figured at .5ohms I could get some more power out of the amp. I see alot of people running at .5ohms but dont know if thats what they run daily. Is it really that much more power hungry going from 1ohm to .5ohm?

you dont gain that much more power by runnig the amp at .5 ohms.....

only 800 watts or so.

and you void the warrenty.

Damn!!! 800watts sounds like a big difference.. Also I meant what would be wrong with running the amp at .5ohms besides voiding the warranty? Could the amp handle it?

It is more stress on the amplifier.

This does not necessarily mean it will fail but it will increase the likelihood over time.

Got it..

Thanks,

My personal opinion is do it if you have the electrical to back it. With a daily type of impedence rise on music it will never be a factor. Just my opinion.

BTW, those that see only 800 more watts going to .5ohm from 1.0ohm didn't have enough to give the amp.

My setup will consist of 4 Kinetiks 2400 to 2 Sundown 3K's pushing 2-18" FI BTL's. Alt will be a 300amp. I wanted to run the amps at .5ohms because of the impedence rise. I really dont play systems like others do, Just like to have something to show off ;) Every now and then..

Then by all means :doit:
