The BTL is Fi's most efficient woofer. In the right box... this could do some serious damage to your car

can 1 12" BTL in an omptimumly ported enclosure compare to 2 18" BLs in an optimumly ported box?

if i were you, depending on what you listen to id say you just want it loud. honestly i think 2 12 bls or qs ported in a crip box maybe like 5 cubes after displacement with anywhere from 12-16 sq inches of port per like Fi recommends tuned to whatever you want. itll most likely smash your 2 15 type rs sealed, because ive played with type rs and no comparison i say. my friends 1 15 fi Q in a tline was louder and sounded better than 2 15 type rs i did in a crx.

I dont know how to design a ported box... i built my ported box before, it turned out EXCELENT

if i have the design i can do it, its just that i have to be able to fit it in my car door,(if im doin the 18"s)

i agree with john. your electrical won't be able to support what you're looking for anyways. doing one 15" btl right in a smaller japanese tin can will blow your mind, it also leaves you a high margin for error because they can take a serious beating. a single 15" was the most i could fit in my honda but done properly it wangs.

i think you're looking for something like a bl or a btl in a ported box then, chances are you don't have the airspace or power to get two sealed woofers to perform the way i think you want them to. then again this is pretty subjective because your overall goals are unclear to me. what dimensions do you have for the box?

that's perfect for a properly built 4cu @ 34hz enclosure for a btl... my single 15" enclosure is 18.5d 16h 33w

there's no way to guarantee one setup will be louder than the other, that depends entirely on your installation. if you want my opinion, in the space you have i am positive a single btl 15 in an optimal ported box will be louder than two Q's sealed that are scraping the bare minimum on size requirements.

and would two type r's compare to 2 q's? it depends on a lot. the enclosure size, tuning, amps, wiring, car its in etc.....

to compare... they will be in the same size sealed box... same amp (well, 2600Watt, not 2000Watt) but hifonics, same wiring..... same car....2000 hyundai sonata

nothings changing, just a more powerful amp, same brand, same product line

what dont you understand? i cant go sealed because i dont have the room.... the 2 15"s i had before were side to side and the top and bottom of the sub were flush with the box...
