Current clamp shown @ 19.4 amps

19.4 amps x 120 volts = 2328 actual watts

Sub is still okay - don't worry! I just unhooked it at the end.

How come when I try this with other subs I end up with a different result?

That SOB is Rigid... Talk about a stiffy with all those amps in the backround.

is that wired at 4 ohms?

2.2 ohms - any lower will pop the breaker. You can't get any more than that from a standard 15-amp breaker for long as we were seeing over 19 amps.

:fing34:

And damn, for all that power in the distance :D

i have never seen palets of sex before. but now i have.

I feel priviledged cause I get to see those palets of sex all the time in person. Jake is only an hour and twenty minutes from me and I bother him and Brandon on a regular basis. I don't get all that excited anymore when I see the wall o amps, but it's still cool none the less.

On another note that sub is taking the power like a champ. I'd like to see the sub on a 240 volt socket. I once put a L7 12 on 240 and it didn't even play, it just popped with a blue flame.

...u should try a 220V socket220V.gif

wish i could see the video right now, but my work has youtube blocked. Man you need to try and hook that up to a 240V 50Amp outlet and let it pound :D

We don't have that voltage in here - sorry guys :)

cough.. cough... :bull: You're just scared... :):):):)

you don't need "220" you just need a bigger breaker and wired in parallel...

Hell just get you some 10ga wire and hook it straight to the breaker box..

***My local shop use to hook up their returned woofers to the wall to polish them off.. the Old (2nd gen)HCCA 12's use to take a long time before they'd blow...

 at the amps back there.
btw, what frequency is played when you hook up to a wall socket anyways?

i think ac outlets are 60 hz

yep 60hz

I agree. Looks like it takes this without a problem.

That would really be something to see

I've been playing with electrical panels for quite some time, just find your main and run a separate 50amp line off it to a Range/oven outlet. Get a plug for it, and connect the red and black wires to the terminal ends of the woofer.

BTW, 50 amps of 220 should be run with 6ga, up to maximum of 50 ft. If you want to run 4ga, you can use a 100 amp breaker...

what does that equal for wattage with a 4 ohm load? with a 2 ohm? what's the formula?
