Posted January 19, 200916 yr I have a Regular cab dodge...I have narrowed down to 2 options4 sundown E 8's off a sundown 1000or 1 12" Fi BL off a sundown 1200Looking for LOUD SOUND QUALITY This will be going with a active setup with hertz hsk 165's, alpine 9887 and a sundown 100.4What would you guys recommend? 1 12'' or 4 8's Edited January 19, 200916 yr by m0bile
January 19, 200916 yr Author No, not really... I'm strapped with room.Do you think I could fit it back their without the excursion hitting my seat?
January 19, 200916 yr Either Four Sundown e8's Or One Nightshade 12" Like Duran Said. A BL Is A Ground Pounder (Badass Woofer IMO), Still Has Great SQ, But Not Audiophile By Any Means. Can't Go Wrong Either Way, Crazy 8's Or One 12".
January 19, 200916 yr ...Regular Cab Dodge... Bucket Seats? 60/40 Bench? True Bench Seat? Console? If You Have A Console, You Could Take It Out And Construct A Great Sub Up Port Forward Or Two Aeros To The Sides Application. Sorry For The Double Post.
January 19, 200916 yr Capitals aren't necessary for every word. I would go with four 8's. Do something unique.
January 19, 200916 yr Author Yeah, I have a 1998 dodge ram 1500... I could just ubolt the center console and do something like this?
January 19, 200916 yr id do the 8's. i think it would be cool when someone says damn thats loud what you got in that thing and you flip the seat up to show off some 8's. from what bigjon says the bl's are a little more musical than the shades but the shades have a bit more output.
January 19, 200916 yr Author Yeah, 4 8's would be pretty badass.I like the idea of taking out the center console though, it would leave more room for my amp rack and I wouldn't have to sacrifice leg room
January 19, 200916 yr If you strip everything down behind the seat you can easily get 3 ft^3 after sound deadening. So either are do-able. My opinion would be either the 8's behind the seat or either a SSA icon, Mach 5, FI Q in a center console. With the center console I would down fire the sub and if venting I would fire the vent back tuned to 32HZ. You can fit 17" between the seats and up to 18" high is still a nice arm rest height.
January 19, 200916 yr Author anyone could possibly sketch up something with the 4 8's in a center console setup? What would be better, doing them in a line or like phi said, 2 on top and 1 on each side..Miles sent me some pictures of their set-up in their Dodge and I thought either this for 1 12'':Or, if anyone could sketch something up for me with the 8's in a center console box that'd be awesome!I kind of like the indea of having them in a row.. January 19, 200916 yr Author Yeah, I like those installs, but I don't know where I'd put my amps, because I'm getting the 1200D and 100.4 and those amps look tiny in the first 2 pictures.
January 19, 200916 yr Author bumpThink I could mount a 1200 and a 100.4 on the right side where the amps are on the other pictures.

January 20, 200916 yr I have 2000 Dodge, I have 2 12 1 cube sealed behind each seat I loose no leg room, I have ampd behind center console staggered in a semi floating arrangement. My camera is broke but once my girl gets back from IL. I ll get some pictures. Though I am going to end up going with 2 Icon 10's with a 1kw massive audio amp going to each one. Same basic set up. Going to try and squeez out 1.2 cubes per box and stack the amps behind the console. looks pretty good now, adding blue lights and behind the amps.
January 21, 200916 yr I've got a 96 Chevy Tahoe, with (2) 10's in a center console firing downward. The bottom of the console is approximately 4 1/2" from the floor, leaving me a good 3" for an amp rack, in which I have (3) amps, a distribution block and a 1-farad cap mounted. The console follows the curvature of the dash (but about 3" from it, allows me to reach the accessory plugs), and extends to the back of the bucket seats. With the top at armrest height, I have about 2.0 cubes, plenty for the 10's. If I eliminated the two cupholders and the storage compartment on top, I'd gain about another .5-.6 cu ft, and probably another .6-.7 cubes if I followed the dash all the way up.It'd be plenty enough for (4) 8's in your Dodge, with the amps mounted under them.

It would look nice though.ps- BigCProductions99, try to do something about the capitals. They are really annoying for some reason. I'm not just trying to be mean. Edited January 21, 200916 yr by phi
